Anyone open up an OEM tail light?

Kicking ideas around before I sell my OEM tail light. Since it's LED I wonder if it's clear instead and just the lense is red? Anyone cracked one open?

RussellJ did, and eventually made a board full of leds to fit inside it.
It turned out really well.
I havent seen him here in a couple years, good luck finding the thread.

I have the aftermarket one now that has a clear smoked lense with a huge board of LEDs on it. Only bad part is due to angle of light, the point at 45deg instead of directly straight back. I wouldn't mind using the OEM backing with a smoked clear lense from this light or make a new board with better LEDs in my old light. Something will be happening over the winter!

I found it. He opened a CA light, which is similar to one I have. Only difference is mine doesn't have signals integrated into it so they all work for brake/running already. I still think I can upgrade it though with some higher output LEDs.
