Are some colors more visible (safer?)

I've always tended to do bright color bikes (like red R1...Repsol CBR......red MV...orange sporty)because I figure they are more visible but I really like the 06 LE (and the 06 blue/ silver) Busa. I've never yet had a cager pull out in front of me..........knock wood 100 times.
However I also think that if someone is going to pull out in front of me all they see (or should I say don't see) is the front of the bike so maybe the color doesn't really make a difference).
Am I silly to worry about riding a white bike versus something bright.
Interested in other opinions.
Thanks

Thats why I like chrome, I dont think its the color but make your bike eye catching.

the only problem then is that you steer where you are looking.

Personally I dont think that color would make a lick of difference (although in cars I know it is a factor, and white is considered the "safest" color).

When I am near intersections, I am prone to using by pass light to notify drivers that I see, of my arrival. Not to mention that I actively practice the slow-fast approach when near intersections to limit my exposure to cars coming across the path. Slow down until you pass the apex of the intersection (where someone could pull out and hit you), then you speed up to limit your exposure time to a T collision.

I've got a red bike, red and white jacket, red helmet and almost hit a car head on...It didn't matter, as the woman driving the car only cared about getting into the gas station as fast as possible and decided my lane was best...I left about 15ft of skid marks, swerved left then right and missed her hood by about a foot. Some people just don't give a krap, they see you but don't care...

go with the white bike you can't go wrong. I love mine. threw in some HID's that'll help

Are you silly, no, just defensive.
I swear people notice me quickly with my Red bike helmet jacket Silhouette.
I left my house one day in my Honda Civic, typical "Light Grey Color", had the right of way in a residential area going about 20MPH . Next thing I know a young lady in her 20's in a Cadillac T-bones me in the passenger door, her comment was that she didn't see me. Keep in mind this is in a car which you would think would be easier to see than a motorcycle. Ive went with red, wired in a backoff module http://www.signaldynamics.com/products/BLSM/blsm.asp and yes, left my reflectors on, of course it won't make difference if 3500lbs slams into me or I slam into an immovable object.
If you think it will make you safer, good.

P.S. She also said she didn't think it was her fault because she didn't see me, meaning that even know I was right in front of her, she didn't notice me some how? I told her to get the hell away from me and wait for the cops to deal with this or I would have gone to jail for assault.

Can you see my bike ?

To me people seem to see movement more than color or light. I always wobble a little if someone pulls up to an intersection that I am approaching. I have had several start to pull out then notice the wobble and stop.

The white does stand out in a crowd! Nice bikes!

I prefer white, although if you want to stand out, they don't call the Corvette red "Arrest Me Red" for nothing. It definitely attracts LEOs attention very quickly....

If you want to be noticed, reflective graphics are the trick. Being new, I'm not sure what kind of reaction that will get on this board...

Now to which color is fastest? Well, it would have to be the bike which is all colors. And if you remember science class - white is the color that reflects all colors!

I've always been partial to dark / black bikes because I do not want to be seen. Especially by the police man. It's kind of hard to deny that you aren't on a red / yellow / kawi green bike to a cop when he pulls you over.
