OK, I'm glad no one was hurt because this could have went bad. If you carry you probably should not drink "I don't", you have to be able to make good decisions and I think this is what makes some people nervous.

Armed man seeks room at Arlington Ritz-Carlton: ‘$600? Say hello to my little friends!’ - The State of NoVa - The Washington Post

The man was tired, had consumed a few adult beverages, and just needed a place to crash. So he wandered into the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and inquired about the availability of a room. On his belt were two .45-caliber handguns, which added a little spice to the situation, Arlington County police said.

But this was not the Lice and Things Motor Lodge out on the freeway, where men with guns are perhaps not so rare. Standard room rates at the Pentagon City Ritz start at $599 a night. Taxes not included. The front desk clerk informed the well-armed traveler of the room rate and he became “agitated by the response,â€￾ Arlington police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. Lacking the 600 bucks, the man inquired if he could maybe get a quick drink, Sternbeck said. Also a no-go.

Now doubly irate, the man left the Ritz but loitered outside the front door, Sternbeck said. He was confronted by a security guard, and proceeded to point his .45s at the security guard, one loaded and cocked with the safety off, Sternbeck said. Police were summoned and the man was arrested without further incident.

Andrew Dziuk, 29, of Centreville, was charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and being drunk in public. Sternbeck did not know where Dziuk had been prior to the Ritz. Dziuk did land a free bed at the Arlington County jail, but the costs of defending against the two felony charges will likely outweigh the costs of a night at the Ritz.

Some folks shouldn't be near guns, simple.

I figure from the read he was open carrying? Is that legal where he's from?

And, he should lose his right to ever legally carry again. Sorry, you screwed up...

Yes it is, he was in VA across the highway from the Pentagon, you can open carry but some areas of course are restricted.

Nothing to do with this but you have to make sure you know the rules in this area because MD and DC you cannot
and all three have different gun laws but a lot of people commute in, around or through all three. I use to live in DC,
Kids went to school in MD and I worked in VA.
