i posted a thread on this before but got small responce. i noticed a small exhaust leak where the rear bracket connected to my accually muffler, so i called hmf and they said with the busa and the carbon fiber that this is a common problem and every busa with carbon cans has it.
he said to put some high temp caulking in the can around the threaded hole, let it dry and reinstall. he said it does not affect the performance either but it bothers me knowing its there. Has anyone addressed this problem and if so how did you fix it?

I noticed mine when I installed the system. I used permatex ultra copper silicone gasket maker. When the system was cooled down. I spread a thin layer about 1 1/2 inches wide around the pipe then slipped the cans on. It pushed a little bead of silicone up which I trimmed off with a razor blade when it was dry. For good measure I did every joint in the system. 12k miles later, no leaks, no probs.

i know i just dont want to get silicone in the whole where the bolts go in. im not to neat with caulking. and to usn i dont have a leak at the pipe its accually coming from the bolts that hold on the can to the mounting bracket. if you put your had there you can feel a small leak at both of the bolts that ar towards the front of the bike.

I put silicone in there as well. It won't hurt a thing. I just coated the bolt with the same silicone I used every where else and tightened it down.
