Average battery life

Understanding that "your milage may vary" statement stands valid. But what is the average life expectency of a OEM battery of a busa out of the factory? 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, etc...?

Please throw in with and without the consistent (48hr or more) use of a batter charger like Battery Tender.

Thanks

On my 2001 hayabusa the stock batery lasted from May 2001 untill March 2004, never charged, never on a battery tender.

2005 only lasted about 6 to 8 months got a new one under warrenty but was told if i did not ride it daily the new one would do the same and no warrenty next time also said i needed to keep a charger on it

two years whether it needs it or not.

Heat just kills them. For my cars I buy a five year battery at wally world and take it back every two years for replacement. Around $12.00. Not bad.

Never had a problem ever but I ride everyday! Letting them sit will drain and kill a battery.

Just replace a 2001 battery about 6 mo ago. I dont ride every day and never had it on a tender. The battery was not dead but it was getting weak.

depends on the usage of the bike but normaly 24-30 months is okay for a change .

Replacing your battery every 2 years just because its 2 years old is stupid and a waste of money. If you keep it on a tender if it sits for more than a few days will keep it going for quite a while. My battery is 3 years old and is just as good as the day I bought the bike. Most auto parts stores won't replace a battery under warranty if it tests good. They don't just give you a new one because its 2 years old and you say you want a new one. I just replaced a battery in my lawn tractor that was 8 years old and yes it is on a battery tender thru the winter when not in use. Normally these types of tractor batteries only last 2-3 years. Bottom line get a battery tender and use it.

It should last a very long time, the battery in my Raptor is a yuasa and it sits for 6 days at a time and sometimes 2 weeks, and that things get beat to hell when i ride and race. I've had that same battery for 4 1/2 years, and it has out lasted 2 battery cables so far. Yuasa is the way to go.

that may be true for the busa, lawn mowers and such but for the car..yup..every two years.

Ask anyone from the southwest desert. For $12.00 it's worth it every time I turn the key. In fact, when they change the oil I ask them to check it for me. (part of the service)

Last time they said it needed replaced. Two years on it. I didn't argue.

i was still on the OEM 1 on my 02 R6 *bought in june '02* never had to replce, just threw on the battery tender every once in a while. ive had the busa for over a year now, same thing.. threw it on the charger maybe once a month-6 weeks, still fine.
