Well changed out the wheels, and got to thinking about the axels. Should I use some sort of special grease on the front and rear axels?

I used a little Amsoil 10w40 synthectic on the axels, but wondering if I should use some form of grease instead before I loctite all the bolts down, or is the oil good enough

I usually just put a light coat of oil or smear light coat of grease as the amount of tolerance there will take all it off anyways.

I usually just smear on a little grease and reassemble the wheel

the axle doesn't move(no rotation), the bearings inner race doesn't move(no rotation on the axle) greasing up the axle...pointless. Maybe a pinch to ease installation, help prevent corrosian...

RSD.

I only use it so the axle slides in easier...its only aluminum alloy and there is no reason to chew it up

I have never used anything on the axles and they still look the same as the first time I had them out.

Its not a wear issue...just some things go together with a little lube

you don't need to put anything on your axle to install it....more of a personal preference kinda thing.
