The socket is a little loose, but will work fine. A 35 wont fit and a standard socket is looser(if I remember right). It is the same size for GenI or II's.

It's a 36mm on All Busa's Gen 1 and 2. The wrench that comes in the tool kit is also a 36MM wrench.

exact nut size is 1.407 inch = 35.737 8 millimeter...so next size is: 36 mm
This is for a 2006, so I imagine it's the same as 2008 since that's what everybody else said.

Speaking of rear axle nut. Has any one found a way to put a safty pin in it, like the gen 1 have. i dont think it was a good look to remove it from the Gen2's

I never looked to see if you could buy a genI nut(if it's the same thread size) and drill the shaft for the pin.

Taking the front tire off do any of you use a 24 mm hex to the axle? or do you leave the pinch bolts tight on one end and unbolt the other side of the axle ?

My 08' failed tech for the rear axle nut cotter thing... I had to (and mind you, this is in the middle of the desert) find someone with a drill, find a cotter pin, and drill the nut/axle and install a cotter. I broke the two small drill bits I had before getting through the first side of the nut so I grabbed a 1/4" and went straight through the axle after peening a flat spot on it.

It only passed re-inspection because I talk pretty fast - guess that's a holdover from my pre-marriage dating days...

I need to get a pin in the axle nut/axle but have to buy some more drill bits fast

Anybody know if the axle threads are the same between 1st/2nd gen?
