Bad Day

Well, I say it was bad, it was actually mostly good... but lets not get indecisive.

Due for a meeting in Manchester (UK) today, I live in York, about 70 miles away. Perfect, I'll go on the bike. Jump on
it at 7.30 this morning, would it start, would it **** (excuse my lack of French).

Flat battery again. Run into the house looking for my charger just to give me enough to start her up, could I find it? could I 'eck.

Shout up to wife (I'm getting irritated now)... what have you done with the charger? don't know comes the response. Spend half an hour trying to find it, grrr, and never do.

I'm now going to be late for the meeting. Went to Halfords, bought me another charger, got her started and had a good ride over to Manchester as fast as I could. Nice ride actually.

Set off home about 5.30pm from Manchester, through the rush hour traffic, riding for 10 mins. muppet in a car nearly took me out while I was filtering, I thought I was a dead man. How we didn't connect I have no idea, I was starting to brace for impact though I know I should've relaxed. Muppet.

Still, there goes another day, still in one piece, hopefully tomorrow will be better. Sorry, did I go on a bit.

I got that felling before where I thought I was going to connect and after flinching, everything was good except my undies.

Glad your alright, sometimes some days are good, while others are bad...

I guess filtering is the same as lane splitting (straight down the middle) between the fast lane and middle lane - haven't heard it called lane splitting. I thought I was going to end up splitting more than the lane - eg. my neck/leg/pack of oranges

Thanks for your concern, I think these things come along now and then just to remind us to be that bit more wary of muppets in cars. Can we possibly be any more wary?

Cagers here in CA think we could be more cautious, lane splitting is legal here so some think it is dangerous. You just need to keep your head on a swivel. Glad you were GTG. Ride smart!!!

Glad you made it through. Sounds like the worst part is that you had to buy a new charger and were late for a meeting. Could have been worse.

Glad everything came out ok. I wouldn't think of lane splitting here in Kansas City. The drivers here don't think us bikers even deserve a lane of our own to ride in .

Same in VA
I treat all car drivers with the contempt they deserve now.

The thing that bothered me the most was he just kept coming, I don't know what he was looking at. Probably some poof doing his hair. Didn't have time to hoot, kick or anything, only had time to think 'bugger, here we go'... how much is this going to cost in pain to me and the bike.

Fortunately none.
