Bad noise from the Busa, again.

Seems like the chain is loose and slapping around. Either that, or your sprockets are worn really badly (especially the front one) that the chain jumps. How about measuring the chain slack, and the pictures of your front and rear sprocket. Are they steel or aluminum? If the rear is visibl worn, you can bet the front is a lot worse as it does 3 times more work.

Does the noise go away if you pull the clutch in?

Yup, made the noise without the chain on too. :banghead:

Chain and sprockets look brand new, only about 5k on em.

John, I'm gonna be messing around with it this evening, 5-6ish when my mechanic buddy stops over, ill give ya a call, maybe a Lil over the phone diagnosis can be made.

Cannot get either link to work. Really interested in the sound you're hearing too, as my bike starting make a popping noise this weekend as well.

Thinkin the Cam set in the clutch assembly. A buddy had 1 out of his old TL that we swapped in, it had a lil less play then mine. The noise is still there when the bike is on the stands, but not while riding. I think my trans/clutch may just be beat from the 240kit. Ive still got a vibration at times, no rhyme or reason the the vib, had it for awhile, was hoping this would correct it. At this point the bike works as much as it has all season so Im just gonna ride till fall then see about paying for some professional help for it over the winter. Pssstt Gixerhp, this means you.

Links hate me...

It sound like the chain is skipping teeth or a broken tooth, but my sprockets are both good.
