Is there a trick to getting these bar ends off? Rotation of the screw is still left etc? I just dont want to strip these things out.

Thanks....

When using the correct size phillips, also turn the bar end with your other hand. They are tight from factory but helping with your other hand should release easily.

First don't use the screws just turn the bar ends, If it's to tight wrap them up with some kind of cloth and turn them with a pliers it should break the factory seal, Then the screws will be easy to remove.

Trust me, this is the way to go.........Forget the right screwdriver tip thing........did that and still f***ked up the screw. Was thining maybe it was locktighted in or something so I drilled the head off, removed the bar end, and the rest of the screw came out by fingers.

So........It's just the friction of the aluminium against the srew thats so tight. I wrapped the other end in a strap, snugged up with visegrips to make what works like an oil filter wrench and like magic...............it came loose real easy......then use the screwdiver.

Someday I need to replace that damn screw.

Screwdriver didn't work for me at all. Just grabbed her tight with my hand and gave her a good twist!

Just goes to show 'ya that different things work for different folks because holding her tight and trying to screw her off didn't work for me. Good thing the board is here to find alternative ways.

I ended up getting one bar end off with a screwdriver, but the other one seemed to be on much tighter and just used a pair of channel locks, didn't plan on keeping them anyway.

The screwdriver worked just fine for me but they do come off easy, just a screw holding it. I replaced my handle bar grips with some busa grips. I think they look pretty cool

The # 3 phillips and, a little twist with the other hand got them right off.
It probably didn't hurt that I tried with an impact driver first.
