Anyone have one, raised one? I’m thinking about it. Which one of these lil gurls do you like?

Once we moved and moved into a regular house, we had a basset hound and a german shepard. When we we weren't home, they had access to the house and the back yard through a door.
Can't comment on a single at home, but they aren't generally destructive from memory. Outside normal puppy behaviour

One kennel is in texas and I’ve never gotten a pet sight unseen, pics of course but not in person. It would have to be shipped at a surprisingly low price, $150. Also surprising is the big difference in prices compared to here. Did your family kennel air ship any pups?

I'd go with Abby. She has the loyal eyes of devotion.
And she's not an IT, she is Abby your next puppy. You ride all over Gods creation. Please don't ship her. Make a road trip and go get her before someone else does.

I like Abby too and don’t like the idea of air shipping a puppy. Although the price for one there is less than half of what I’d have to pay here, Bellville TX is nearly 2,000 miles (one way). It’s damn near Louisiana. So fuel for my car (not the bike) plus 3-4 nights lodging for nearly 4,000 miles would be expensive too.

Be careful that they're legit.
Puppies are a Big scam business.
Bassette hounds are awesome dogs too, a couple neighbors had them when I was a kid.
They are pretty mellow with good personalities, not very lively...but funny when they are, or when they want to chase something.

Hi. I can do 900 miles a day. More if I push hard. So 1st night take a long nsp in the car. Then pick up the dog and start driving back. Sleep in a hotel then keep driving back. Than another long nap in the car or hotel. Then home. I have driven from Boston MA to Miami FL unloaded the drove back to Georgia. But afrer 27 years a over 2,000 000,000 I know when I can not drive another mile. It is when I start playing with my hat that is it I need to stop and sleep.

You will be asking her to faithfully serve you and hopefully sleep next to you maybe even curled up in your armpit in your bed like my Yorkie does and watch over her king while he sleeps and you can't take a lil road trip? I've driven further for pizza. :)

Is the guilt trip working yet? Loaded up and headin out yet?

Two billion? I drove 1,100 miles one way to Dillon MT to buy a Ducati and each way was over the Donner summit on I-80. Only motel was when I got there. However, I didn’t have a 16 week old puppy with me.

All I heard was a Duc is worth more than Abby. Will that Duc bark when sumptin goes bump in the night? Oh wait....no Abby might even be expected to watch her while she sleeps too.

Are you loaded up yet or what?!?!?

No and I sold the Ducati years ago. A guy flew up from San Diego to buy it sight unseen and rode it back. Took him two days!

I haven't seen a Basset Hound around here strangely enough.....

I love dogs but am allergic to them and any breeds that I'm not allergic to.....the hypoallergic ones, don't interest me....

I'd love to have a German Sheppard but the neighbor has one that I play with and my other neighbor has a Weimaraner that I walk quite a bit.....I even have my own harness and leash for him because they often can't find theirs.....

Having a critter around will be good for you but you will have to find a way to take her/him with you on your bike..........

You’re allergic but play with one and walk another? I thought of a smaller pooch for riding but the one I liked, the French Bullie (wutta face) but they’re more expensive (way more) than Bassets. 2K and up. I found a very high priced Basset though, champ blood lines and the kicker was…blue eyes! They wanted over 6K.

I never said I was smart......

However, I'm careful to not touch my face or eyes and wash my hands after playing with them...

For some reason all the neighborhood dogs love me and even dogs that normally don't go up to people will come up to me.

I’ve always had food animal ‘karma’ I guess. I helped train police dogs, wore the suit or sometimes just the padded arm. Only one took me down, a 110 pound silver shepherd. Great bite and pulling power. It’s too bad you're allergic what with having such good karma with dogs. You’d be a great owner/partner with one. If I had a big enough spread I’d have several dogs.
