Battery is dead. The lights come on, and it primes itself, but when I try to start it it just makes a click-click-click noise. It's been a while since I started it. Will I,or did I lose my custom map on my PCIII USB ?

I was given a price of $124.00 does that sound about wright ?

Thanks !!

I had the same issues. I dont know for sure, but you should be ok on your map, how else can you change batteries? That price sounds about right for a standard lead acid battery. Pull the seals and make sure you still have water/acid in the battery. I recommend getting a good Absorbed Glass Mat battery. Pashnit has them on his site for 65.00 last time I checked. My local dealer quoted me 108 for a standard battery and 191 for gel.

I was just on his site looking at that, but it looked like the terminals are down on the face of the battery, would that matter ?

The battery has 4 posts, the two that you see, and two on top that you don't. I just ordered one from Pashnit for my brother's bike that I'm fixing. :beerchug:

Okay, I guess I wasn't just looking at THAT one. What's better about Gel batteries, or what's the BEST ??

Thanks

They are completely sealed, wont leak, boil out, or ever need water. They are still lead acid, but the battery has a gel absorbed fiberglass mat in it. Safer, and according to manufacturers, will stay in a bike without needing a charge for a year. I know the oem battery is supposed to be maintenance free, but they arent, at least mine wasnt. When my battery died ( and I did keep it on a tender) I pulled the caps and it was bone dry, not a drop of water. I will never buy another lead acid battery that is not a gel cell.

You could also check your kickstand switch. That is something that is easy to eliminate.

I'm pretty sure it's the battery, I should have gotten 1 last spring, but I jumped it, and it held out till now, but how would I check the switch ? The lights are real dim ??
