I am in need of a new battery for my 2009. What brand are you all using? Acid or sealed? Price? Thanks for your time.

I got mine from batteries plus, I prefer to get mine from a National place in case I have some problems on the road away from home an need a warrantied replacement unexpectedly.

My walmart battery is still going strong after 3 years, been on the tender during winter. Not that i'd suggest the walmart battery, i was broke at the time:laugh:

I have an oriellys battery and still good after a year. The bike has sat for 2 months and it fired right up the other day.Guess buy what you can afford and like what was said, get it from a national chain so in case of a warranty issue.

Honestly i have a battery plus battery just make sure you get the one with the extended warranty or every year go in and bull**** them and get a new battery haha i wont lie i get a new one ever year for free under warranty. When i bought my bike it had a batteries plus battery in it and the guy gave me a receipt and it was 3 months out of the year warranty.. it was weak so the store manager told me "hey buy a new one and swap it out every year we just send them in and get it replaced with a new unit so we dont care."

I think a lot of people will say Yuasa batteries. I'm probably about to try one myself.

I had a lithium one but I didn't like it because you need the special charger. A standard charger will work, but you have to time it right. Like you can't leave it overnight, you have to do it for 45mins only.

I have a motbatt and love it..had it for about 2 years with no problem.. And u dont need any special charger..charges like a regular battery only faster to charge..and pashnit has really good prices on them...usually cheaper than most batteries...

I would NEVER recommend a regular lead acid battery to anybody. Sealed AGM is the way to go. That or the LiPo mentioned already. OEM Yuasas can be had for under $100 shipped. The Motobatt in my son's antique GS550 seriously kicks butt.

Agreed, go through pashnit. I believe I got one of those motobatt batteries and my bike starts up every time! Keep in mind I live in Iowa, so the weather gets a little chilly here!

Factory Yuasa with a Battery Tender will last you years and years of worry free service.
If your running a dragbike I would suggest a Gel cell battery to save in weight. If your running
a high compression engine I would suggest Odyssey motorcycle batteries

How do people go thru battery's like that?
My 2008 busa has the same battery as it did from 08 when I bought my bike new.

Good point with the national brand name and warranty. My 05' went 5 years on the original I don't know why this one went so soon. Maybe because the bike was a left over and sat around awhile before it was sold? Anyway thanks for all the info.

My yuasa lasted from 02 till now... But on a budget I bought the Walmart one last week. So far so good lol (btw if u do go there u can't use the 12-bs they recommend too tall, the 9-bs is a perfect fit)
