Beat two tickets this week!

I beat two traffic tickets this week and I feel very fortunate! I had one yesterday in a neighboring county, speeding doing 85 in a 70, caught with laser. The attorney I had beat that one with ease. I actually got the ticket back in July and just got into court on Monday.

The second ticket was a Negligent Driving, which is quite serious in this state with a fine of $528. I was ticketed for lifting the front wheel about knee high and carrying it for about a hundred feet getting onto the freeway. The entire wheelie was on the entry ramp. I picked it up at about 25 mph and sat it down at 50 mph then drifted out into the slow lane. Never exceeded the speed limit but the state patrolman was not impressed. From his attitude you would have thought he had just caught "Jack the Ripper". My attorney got that one dismissed as well. He actually had seven tickets in court today and won all seven. This guy really knows his stuff. I was totally impressed.

One thing I learned today is the cops are not always honest when they write up their report. They take the facts and exagerate them to suit their needs. My attorney told me the best thing to do when you are stopped is not to say a word. You are only required to give your name and address which is on your license. Never, never, never get into a conversation with them! Anything you say can and will be used against you in court and what you do say may not be exactly what the officer writes in his report? This attorney told me he could get me out of just about any ticket if I kept my lip buttoned and didn't say a word! If you are ask a direct question such as, "How fast were you going"? Just answer with "No Coment". Just thought you guys might be interested to know that traffic cops do not always win!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I like that. Does it vary from state to state?

The attorney charged me $350 per ticket.

I'm sure laws vary from state to state. I think the gest of not talking to the officer is anything you do say can be twisted into something incriminating. If you say nothing, then they have no amunition except the facts and a good attorney can always challenge the facts.

I ask the attorney what he thought about the kid who got the 205 mph ticket on an RC51 from the air. He told me he had never lost a ticket by airplane and a stop watch.

Washington has some real ticket nazi's. My buddy in Seattle has done the same thing with an attorney and has gotten out of 5 tags in the last 2 years. Only 1 ticket was for his Harley the rest were commuting to work in his car.

Very interesting. You're a lucky man!! Congrats on keeping those points off of your record and take it easy out there.

Good to know info and yes I would say you were lucky. You probably want to watch things for a while.

Hey Bro, As much as I hate em' in General I could really use this Attorney's contact information when I get up there.

Knock on wood I havn't had a cause for one yet here in Tampa but ya never know.

If it was just a Fine, and a slap on the wrist I'd be all for Paying Em without comment. Hell I did the crime I'll pay, No Sweat. But with the Insurance Industry being what it is, and the way your driving record is made available to the LEOs it's just not a good idea to take a ticket lying down. Next thing ya know your Rates are Double, and if you get pulled for even the most minor of offense, your getting ticketed because it shows up and your chances for a warning go right out the window. Especially when they are short of the quota...

Or in Tampa where they have began harrassing all the bikes all the time. Unless of course your on a POS, Hardley in a Fuggin Parade...

Awesome, I have gotten some really crappy tickets that I didn't deserve. Makes me feel better that someone is getting out of them.

These LEO folks here in Washington have become so sneaky. The State Patrol is now using totally unmarked granny cars to improve their ticket count. They have added a number of midsize commuter cars such as the chevy impala and the buick regal to their fleet. They tint the windows so it's harder to see inside and don't even have a WSP license plate. You can't tell who they are until the lights in the grill come on. The Local County Sherrif Dept. has two totally unmarked ford expeditions with civilian plates with moving radar as well. And they all seem to hate Sport Bikes. I have been pulled over three times this year on the freeway by the State Patrol just to be sent on my way after checking my license. I have come to the conclusion they blue light you just to see if you will run? When I got the ticket for the tire coming up on the onramp, the trooper was a complete ####! He won't be happy when he learns I beat the ticket!

Something you Washington boys need to think about is if you get the nerve to run?

The State Troopers here have cameras in most of their cars that come on automaticly when the blue lights come on and they have your plate number. Don't run! You'll go to jail!

Yeah Man we have some of them "Sneeky Piggies" runnin around tampa... So far I have seen a Ford F350 and a 150. Several different Sedans, marked and Unmarked. Even saw a Marked F150 the other day out on the Super Slab....

I figure best bet, is to leave your license plate at home, then just look surprised if you get pulled over... If you stop that is...

i know around here when we take our fenders off we bend our licesnse plate just enough so you can see we have one. You know just so it doenst get dirty

glad to hear of your success, tickets are like diarhea we all get it eventually and like the ticket we want it disimissed as soon as possible ; )

oh and the comments about cops not always writing down information and facts accurately needs to be clarified IMO. COPS LIE!!!! Just like everyone else when their filling out thier reports they make things sound good for them and usually leave out anything that can be used against them. To me this is the same as lying. If I tell you I'm hansome and I'm butt ugly I'm not only lying to you but to me as well. This is one of the biggest issues I have with LEO. THey are human they LIE as the Rampart scandal proved here in LA. Add cops to the never trust list like hookers, drug addicts and politicians. Just MO

i sorta wonder what ever happened to "yeah office I effed up, you caught me... where do i pay the fine"

the only thing worse than getting a ticket is having to pay some good time lawyer to weasel my ass out of it...

glad your happy with the results.. but myself.. as much as it sucks I think you should just pay and get over it.

Right On, MoTrFinger!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ticket is usually less money than the attorney. However, your driving record follows you like the plague. The ticket is cheap but what the insurance industry does to you as a result of a few tickets is criminal. You are way better off to pay the attorney over the cost of the fine! I'd be happy to pay the fine everytime and never contest a citation if that was the end of it! A negligent driving for doing a wheelie could cost you thousands over a three year period for insurance? Get yourself a GOOD attorney! Money well spent!

I call Bullshid!!!! Cops aren't your fuggin Parents, This isn't about accepting responsibility. It's about the unreasonable, and hugely expensive consequences of a speeding ticket even when out in the sticks.

Like I said above Attorney's Suck, they are an evil in this world. But sadly they are a neccessary evil at this point.

If it was just a fine cool, I'd pay my fine without hassle, I'm a stand-up kinda guy. But it's the Rates you'll pay later through your insurance, it's the tickets you get down the road instead of warnings because you have a ticket on record.

A $100 speeding fine can easily cost you an extra $4-500 a year for five six years anyway. This is why spending a few hundred on an Ambulance chaser is a good thing. Not to weasel out of the consequences, but to avoid all the bullshit expense and hassle that goes with it...

So there is NO "Get Over It". If there was, I'd be all for it... I think there are still some states that issue Roadside fines. You pay cash or check, and your off. No citation, no traffic court, no future expenses. This is the way to do it...
