Bent Busa?

I picked up an 05 a couple weeks ago, 3K on the clock, couple scuffs on the right hand pegs and mirror, looks like maybe it got stalled and tipped or something, can't find any indications that it was actually crashed. Weird part is, when you ride it, the bars are slightly to the right when traveling in a straight line. I thought maybe the rear axle was out of alignment, but I put it on a rearstand and found something very strange. With the front wheel facing straight forward in relationship to the bodywork, the upper triple and bars are slightly right still, just like when riding it in a straight line. Other than that, it seems perfect. Rides nice, no weird handling, tires are shot, but I got a new set for when the weather warms up. I'll be pulling some bodywork today so I can change oil and such, but I'm stumped on this front end thing, any ideas?

This is the part:

Might just have to loosen up the tree and realign it. Recently a member (I think it ws BrendanP) mentioned loosening up the clamp, but not so loose that the fork tubes turn, then spinning the front tire and grabing the brake. The force of stopping the tire shoudl realign the clamp and controls.

Ah, Nitrous Junkie got to you first... I was too slow. We has messed with these alot, he knows the deal.

or maybe the front forks are'nt at the same height? i know my old harley looked "off " a little, turned out it was the forks were'nt adjusted evenly into the tripple tree. not sure if this can be adjusted on the busa though? hope my rambling might help.

Mine are a tad to the right too. Noticed it after I put on the Genmar risers. I'm just to lazy to loosen it up and straighten them out...

That's the best part of this site ... where else can you find experts who have come across just about every issue with this bike--in just 9 minutes? Good calls NJ, MC, Revolution.

Ok, so first try loosening up the lower and upper clamps and give the wheel a spin to see if that lines everything up, and if that doesn't work prolly gonna need a new lower triple? Is this something from the factory, or maybe due to the tip over?

I would say it was from the tip over. I would loosen just the upper clamp first and bounce on the forks a few times to see if it straightens out, there are only 2 bolts to loosen on it and you can get to them without taking anything else apart.
