bent shift shaft

Has anybody had any problems besides me with a bent shift shaft? My bike only had 11,200k when the trans started to slip.1999 copper/silver

The bike sliped out of 2nd hard on the dyno when the mech. asked if that had ever happened before.I told him that you must shift the hayabusa more positively. He new there was a problem.Comming down from a wheely sometimes it would pop into nutral from 1st.Anyway I started to notice the bike slip out of different gears.Large shift shaft was bent.Wound up changing 3 forks,2 shift shafts, under cutting gears instead of replacing all the gears.Powersports of westpalm beach fl. recomended replacing all my gears for a mear $2,000.They went out of there way and told Suzuki the bike has been raced.I wasted 3 months of bullshi_,delays,and jerkjob from Suzuki.Needless to say THEY DID NOT STAND BEHIND THERE TRANSMISSION.Putting bike back together with my younger brother now in his garage were its all set up with a bike stand and tools.Well at least I get to catch up with some male bonding with my brother and am learning how to be a mech. at the same time. Now this from the mouths of babes ,it looks like the weakest point would be the hollow shiftshaft tubes. How about solid tia. tube?

The only time it ever happened to me is when the front end is up going into second.
It will get into the gear then pop out and overev while the front comes down fast.
1st time it happened I thought I broke my chain.
Since then I position my foot firmly under the shifter and make sure I get a good positive stab and there's no problem.
Has never happened when I'm racing or accelerating no matter how hard.
Only wheelies.

Wheelies is were I first noticed the problem Omega in around the miles you have.I meet you 1 year ago on Clematis st on your silver XX.We meet sunday am (run )at MOBILE 8:30am on beeline hwy.I have not seen you out here yet HOW COME?
Johnnycheese-I sent trans. to FAST BY GAST.They undercut gears 6.5 degree and said output shaft did not come that way.Stock busa comes undercut somewhat allready.I am hoping this makes a hard shifting busa shift like butter.I"ll let you know when I'm up and running.
GSX-sorry I did not get back to you this week.My bike needs more time, trans in engine and crank case installed.Have to put all parts back on engine. Then the head gets sent out.My muzzy tia/oval has been ordered 3 months ago, between Starcycle and Muzzy they assured me mine next month. How did you make out at Moroso last week in the rain? I never even went in.I worked on my bike instead.See you early in the a/m,supposed to rain early afternoon.

Sundayamrun,Omega,Just curious? Do you guys do alot of clutchless shifts? I don't use the clutch to shift when I wheelie,or in tight situations usually at full throttle.Just preload and blip the throttle. The tranny shifts like butter since I went to synthetic oil.Just wondering if shifting without the clutch could have contributed to your tranny problem.I'm trying to see into my future.thanks.

You never see me there cause I'm too scared to get my wig peeled.
I never use the clutch to upshift unless I'm really loafing along.
Nick, they sound like the way to go. By the way, get ready for a nice tuning session in september when my motor's done. Will there be any problem using the superflow and do we have an A/F meter? Dont worry I'll give you plenty of notice. I know your a perfectionist just like me so we wont quit till we find the sweet spot.

Thanks Gixxer for that info. I will call them to find out if the shaft is solid or a tube inless you know allready? My only problem is I'm passed that point putting the bike back together.I hope I am not sorry.
Omega:from my reading on org. for the past year I don't think your afraid of anything or anyone.Cops are messing with us anyway lately, but you may be missing out on a great group of riders.
Long shot:clutchless ,wins races, bike jumps foward one bike lenth every shift.Be carefull when preloading shifter be ready to shift but no pressure( puts unnessary pressure on forks).

No Problem Omega, just let me know.I'm working on the 007NickII.map and it looks really good.I also found out that all Hayabusas are restricted.I'll be working on my Busa to unleash the horsepower that we all want.

Nick

Thats what I love about you bro, your always up to something.
The creative juices are always flowing.
I try and limit my personal associations to just people like that.

Sundayamrun, Honestly I'm just not good at anything on early sunday mornings other than rapid eye movements.
I still get to catch up with all the same guys as often as possible.
You'll see me out there more when the temps begin to become somewhat reasonable.
