BEST BLOCK OFF KIT AVAILABLE? 02 BUSA

I'm finally installing my new Yoshi F/S exhaust this week
and along with the PCIIIUSB and K&N filter and the wrench man for Graves is doing full custom mapping which he did for my other boys bike and MAAAAAN, it's running way sweeter then the regular downloaded maps for his PC.

anyways, I want to remove the pair valve (Cali emissions crap) to increase db's and maybe a few hp's.

do block off kits really help prevent backfiring?
and are they necessary for a Full System that is removing the pair valve?

AND WHO HAS THE BEST ONE?
BROCKS? MUZZY?

thanks.

and btw, my R1 still hasn't been found.

Yeah, You need to remove the pair and take care of the associated hoses and such to prevent backfiring with a full system.  Besides, its about the best time to do it once you have the headers off.  The block off plates are a required portion of the PAIR removal.  The PAIR feeds gases back into the engine so without them plates you would have holes in your head.    So yeah, block off plates are part of PAIR removal and PAIR removal is highly recommended when going to a full system.

Best Block off plates are a toss up, they are pretty simple things.  But I would prolly go with BDE. No particular reason... But good stuff...

bde ones rock. They are on the expensive side. Reaper has some cheaper ones.

I did the real cheap method. I cut the upper steel Pair tubes off just beyond the stock plates, then welded them shut and bolted them back on. Cost? $0. Works fine. If I was not so imatient I would have purchased tyhe BDE set though. They are nice.

I just purchased the set from Schnitz racing. Very easy mod to do while changing exhaust. I went to a 4-to-1 Micron just last week. I did the pair valve removal and air box mod at the same time. Man, that damn Micron sounds toooooo sweeeet.

I used Reapers - they were cheaper, and although way more crude than the BDE, they work good, and once the fairings are installed, no one will be able to see them anyway.

That is cheap for the reapers $15.00 ... i still like the bde plates and would buy them again....

Brock's is the one I went with... good quality.

Took a couple of hours for the install...

a couple of hours for the install of the plates?? are you kidding?
it will barely take a couple hours for me to install the full system and pc?

Will removing the PAIR has an adverse effect on a stock Busa?

I've been reading about it, and thinking about doing it this winter.

Thanks,
Jay

I used 4 pieces of 25 cent sheet metal....

that was 20,000 thousand klicks ago....

send me a note if yer interested....

have a cheap n cheerful ....RSD.

thanks everyone.
i'm about being pretty at all costs,
but I could care less when it comes to this.
i'm not looking at it underneath the fairings.
so I went with the cheaper reapers.
