Best Busa to buy?

Looking to get a Busa, use to have a bike, but got married, house etc...got the itch again.  Which Busa is the most coveted year?  I am currently looking at a clean title 2000 Busa for $7000 Canadian, custom paint and fully polished with 22000km (13750miles).  Does that sound reasonable?  What should I look out for mechanically.  The guy is a friend, so I know the bike is in good shape.  Also, I'm not a tall guy 5'7 200lbs.  Will that bike be too big for me too handle?

Price does seem high, but post up some pics if you can. What's your previous riding experience? Not a matter of whether it's too big for you to handle (we have people of all sizes riding them), but whether you are ready to handle the power.

I couldnt agree more. The price does seem a little high, you can get a left over 07 for not much more. Pics would help. Welcome to the oRg!

You still buy 07's for like $9300 if you look around, and thats new!

The answer is quite simple. My Busa, It would be the best busa too buy, link available in sig.

You didn't state your location but since you're talking Kilometers and Canadian $$$, I'll assume you're in Canada.

Looks like you're looking at $6761.33 in US dollars. Might be a bit high with fair mileage, but agree with the above responses, pics would help. It all depends on how "Custom" the paint is, and you said polished, not chromed.............sooooo.

Just my .02

Get an 03 or later unless you find an awesome deal in earlier model. It cost me 550.00 to upgrade my starter system on my 02 to where I felt comfortable with it.

I dont know the inflation or the canidan/american dolla bill ratio but i paid $8400 for a 07 with 4500 miles on it from a associate of mine. That price is high. What you would want to do is get the newest bike/lowest milage you can afford. Im also 5 7" but im 235 lbs and the busa is kind of big for me. I lean over the tank a little. A literbike is a lot better but im not selling it for one. Just dont get a zx14.

I agree, if you're not purchashing an 08, get the 07, for a few more $ you can have a new bike.

I bought my '06 brand new off the showroom floor in January of 2007 for $9000 out the door, with a helmet thrown in.

They are NOT too big, I'm 5'8" and as soon as I bought mine I lowered it front and rear for a grand total of about $100. Then I bought a Tobin seat that is about 1 1/2 inches lower and raised it back to stock height for faster turn-in. The Tobin will run you $150-175 shipped, I would highly recommend that alternative.

I agree. I'm only 5'5". Lowered it an inch in the back, and it's perfect.
