Just bought me a NEW 0 Miles 2011 Pearl White Busa and I'm looking for opinions on frame sliders vs stunt cages. I do not plan on stunting, but I want to protect the plastics.

Let me know what you all think and what are the best of each.

Thanks,

Go with frame sliders..
I think the cages set low and can scrape around corners..
But if something does happen either way somethings going to have scratches..

race railz. nice balance between cornering angle and protection. thought about getting a set for my bus, just never got around to it.

FYI: Frame Sliders are just that, to aid and prevent the frame from contacting the ground in a slide. They will not protect your plastics as you would want them to or would think they should as that is not what they were designed to do. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence just offering a bit of insight.

I'm still looking for "race rails" that will work on a Gen 2. The ones you usually find that "say" they will work, almost look generic and there are never any pics of them on a Gen 2.. :banghead:

Lurch has a set on his Gen 1 and I love 'em, but his brand doesn't make Gen 2 ones..

+1 MILLION. THIS right here needs to be made a STICKY and perhaps will make the "debate" between CUT vs. NO-CUT moot and academic. Like I have said many times before, ANY slider is better than none and they are best for driveway tip-overs.

What about the race rails that kromdom pictured in post #3?

Do sliders. Although that cage posted above looked good and would not scrape on a hard turn. With frame sliders its all about how you position them. If you look at my sliders on my bike in my sig, I accidentally let the bike fall over once and my plastics never touched the ground, no scratches or cracks what so ever. Everyone asks me why I chose to put them that high, thats why lol.

The race rails he posted are on a Gen 1. The other pic is just sliders.. :banghead:

Ahh. Well, if you add them to your cart on their website, a drop down menu gives you the option of selecting the 08+ model. I did yesterday so we'll see if it fits. Keep you all posted

Thanks for the info everyone, I had been wondering that Cheferman65. I just switched from a stunt 99 GSXR 750, but I never had any protection because I wasn't worried about plastics and such. Had bars ends but that was about it ha

Thanks again

I am thinking about some upfront appearance mods for the bike. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I need help putting together a parts list for the '11 Busa. All I have right now is Dual Yosh TRC pipes. What would you suggest for: lower rear/front (not 100% on lowering front, should I?), extend swingarm (black), competition kickstand, and tank protector (I want to cover some of the white so like a gripper pad/tank protector). Any other suggestions?

I finally received the Racing 905 race armor pieces the other day and installed them on the right side. You can see a pic here:

I'm having an issue with the left side, however. The engine bolt that is supposed to go THROUGH the hole winds up getting threaded and bottomed out. Here's a few pics:

There's no way that nut is passing through that end to secure it to the bike:

The threaded portion:

Anyone have any ideas?

Are the bolts on the left and right different lengths? Check the instructions/part list. Call tech support as I have no real world experience with the brand of rail your installing. Good luck and let us know the results.

Haha well silly me. I misplaced the instructions that night and I decided to go look for them :D After I found them, the instructions said to REVERSE the rear engine bolt's direction and insert it from the opposite side. Then it threaded right in and the left rear rail acted as a nut.

She's on now.. silly me :banghead:
