I've got an '01 busa low miles and i got a pcIIIusb and a (Smart)TRE which i guess doesnt mess with the idle in neutral or something....Im getting a K&N filter this week and plan to install all this stuff this weekend. I have a stock exhaust system also. Whats the best map to load on the pcIII for this set up? Im planning on an exhaust system but until then i wanna make the most of what i have and also mess with my friend who thinks hes hott shiet with his yosh slip ons and K&N, and PCIII. He doesnt know about the TRE shhhhhhhhh........BBB

Whats a TRE?

Can i use both the PC III and the TRE together?  I really only want the TRE for better smoother wheelies.....:D
If you've got a PC, you don't need the TRE. I'd recommend having your system properly tuned by somebody who can do a proper map for you. If you get the tune done, definitely lose the TRE, and don't mention the better smoother wheelie to ANYONE.

OK, i installed Everything which is the K&N Filter, The TRE, A brand new Metz M-1 Rear Tire, And the PCIII USB.  I used the "Completely Stock Bikeâ€, Map.  I also gave her an oil change.  The previous owner was using a full synthetic,  and i am a firm believer if your riding on the street and only have an occasional track day, just buy the Suzuki recommended oil, save yourself the money its like $2.32 a quart compared to $11.50 a quart....It fixed my little knock on downshifts, I am guessing since the non-synthetic oil is less slippery.  NE-WHO,  I installed these things one by one and then i would ride for the day and see if i noticed the difference.  First install was the Metzler M1 Rear.....OMG.... i couldn’t believe how much easier the bike was to ride.  My 15 min putt turned in to a full on Angelas Crest Bombing Session!  The Previous Owner Did a lot of st8 and level freeway / commuting type riding and at 7000 miles when i bought the bike there was still about an inch on both sides of wear-less rubber on the original Battle Ax.  The flick-a-bility is in full effect with the new tire!  Next Install Was The TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator).  I had my doubts about this thing just cause of the B.S. Associated with'em.  I have to admit though, that first 1st, first gear wheelie was hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!  It still wasn’t a roll on and I had to bounce it up but it was with much more ease.  Thank god i had my hump on or i might have gone of the back end.  As far as the power increase in the first three gears well, it is enough for me to want to keep it.  I cant quite put my finger on it but the bike just felt more consistant.  As far as the top speed limit removal that the TRE is supposed to take care of well ….haven’t tested that one yet =).  The basic principle behind this part is that it tricks the ecu into thinking its in 5th gear all the time thus eliminating any timing retardation.  It is also suppose to eliminate the 180 speed limit and let the bike run as fast as it can get going.  There is a lot of these things on the market /EBAY!  If your planning on getting one make sure your getting a good one or (SMART TRE)  This has a chip in it that will not mess with your idle in neutral.  The cheaper ones give u that lumpy idle so I have read, weather this is true or not I do not know.  Its a good mod for someone on a fixed budget in my opinion.  Next was the K&N air cleaner,  I  Didn’t really notice too much of a power increase with this but boy did it smooth the bike out big time.  From Idle to pinned in 6th the bike just keeps getting more and more solid and easy to ride.  Yesterday I Installed the DynoJet PCIII USB and loaded it up with the stock bike map.  The bike is really strong all across the board now and super smooth and consistant.  Its way easier to ride and the throttle response is amazing in every gear.  I haven’t decided on an exhaust (AND CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME WIN ONE FROM CACHE!)  but when I do ill hit the dyno and let yall know how it came out……BBB

I would hate to think your referring to me Johnny =). I hate to waste $$$ but i ordered the TRE before i decided to buy the PC3R. The TRE was also a bit of an impulsive buy. Plus i didnt do any research on TRE's. Once i figured the TRE was a "not so hot" buy i tried to return it but the ebay seller gave me the ol "YOU WILL NEVER BUY ON EBAY AGAIN", so instead of fighting the guy tooth and nail i figured i could pawn it off, if i wanted to. I also would of got the PC3R from you Cheese but i, i, i,...=/ am a big fat dummy =( ....So is it a good idea to just pull the TRE and sh1t can it? Or do i need a better map to see the same kind of performance ive got going now with the TRE and Stock Bike Map? Plus i want a dual exhaust system but cant decide what i want....Micron Slip-on's? HMF hi-mount's? Full system? Slip-On's? Plus no ones really answered my question? If i pull the TRE where can i get a map that will work with my mild setup? I dont wanna just DL a map, i wanna learn how it all works and be able to play with the PC3R but the instructions really leave me wanting to know more. Dont get me wrong if someones got a bomb map for a stock bike with filter kick me down =) but can someone break it down for me and maybe help me understand how to make a map and whats best for what kind of riding? This is my first fuel-injected bike......I can jet, tune, and sync a set of mikunis like nobodies business but like i said im new to the whole electronic fuel management as far as motorcycles are concerned. I have a laptop and have downloaded every map i can find for my bike, to it. I just want to learn more about the PC3R. Thanks Guys

pc3r has the capability to play with the ignition timing as well as download maps or program it. 2 different features. the best thing i can offer you is look for someone who has the same set up(mods) and see if they will share their map. as far as exhaust goes i would wait and get a full system, slip ons will not add the ponies you want just a better sound. i wish i had the know hows to mess with the timing on the pc3r that i just got 2..

Okay i think i just realized something, I have the DynoJet PCIII (USB) not the PC3R.  What is the difference between the PC3 (USB) and the PC3R?

Last night i pulled the TRE and i noticed a difference for the worse. I was able to wheelie in first gear in higher RPM's (7-8 grand) with the TRE installed. Now with the TRE removed, the wheelie seems to only be possible in the lower rpm range around 4 grand. I was reading last night about ECU mods in here and i read something about JohnnyCheese tuning your ECU to make the ecu think like this, 1-N-2-3-4-5-5, thus eliminating the rev limiting in 6th and also not losing something about the ram air system. This made me worry since my TRE from what i understand makes my ecu think its in 5 gear all of the time and thus i might be losing out on something in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. Im super confused now! The one thing i do know is that i liked the way my bike ran with th TRE installed but i dont wanna do any damage or compromise anything. Any Suggestions? The bike is still running way smoother then it did stock and im not riding around town on my back tire constantly but at the same time i wanna squeeze everything i can outta this thing without screwing anything up. Is there something i can do via my PCIII (USB) to get those first three gears rippin again without the use of the TRE? Thanks for puttin up with me guys i know im a pain in the arse.......BBB

the TRE does nothing above 4k except make it richer so your map suxs if it got worse above 8k.this is FI and you throw jetting out the window. you find a good tuner on a loadcontrol dyno and have it mapped and never screw with it again.
PS.usb's map every 250 rpm gives you a better map without having to play with timing.
It also if you are really good lets you map each cylinder seperate.

Yeah i was readin that last night about the individual cylinder mapping, sounds pretty tricky.  My biggest thing is right now im running The "stock Bike Map" that came with my PCIII (USB) and is also available on the dynojet site.  Since my bike is pretty much stock with the exception of the K&N air filter i figured this was the best to start with.  I also wanted to find a good map until i can afford my HMF system at which point i was gonna take it to my buddy with the load control Dyno and get it tuned the right way.  I just figured in the mean time there might be a better map to use rather then dynojets "Stock Bike Map".  Also Johnny you prob know this if anyone does why is my 01' Busa PCIII (USB) a different part number from previous years and following years?  Whats different with the 01's?  I think 99-00 has one part number, then 01 has its own part number, then 02 to present have another part number....whats up with that?  Thanks again .....
