Best time?

Depends on your body weight. low 9's to mid 8's should be obtainable if you weigh 175 or under. Your 60' time can't exceed 1.5 if you're gonna get a good run. Stock i don't see it happening but never say never. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy learnng how to launch a 175 hp stock setup and currently sucking at it!

If you ballast the front, and learn to launch hard, I say mid to low 9's. If you have a turbo, but no progressive boost controller, it's gonna be hard to learn how to launch. Good luck!

You should break 8s by the end of the season. More HP may slow you down on a bike.

No matter what anyone says expect the worst times ever,so when you come out to practice you don't end up hurting yourself trying to live up to times and expectations of others.oh and if you do that you'll be flying in no time.Race at the level you feel comfortable with and then step it up.if you have never launched a bike expect high et with high mph, after some practice they will work independent of each other.low et's and high mph....call or pm me if i can help you any......Daniel 503-381-8187...Pacific Raceway track is one of the best in the NW and they have lots of trackdays you can attend...Be ready to become addicted....good luck..

hehe.. how about how many feet the front tire is actually touching the track surface..

I say 4 feet and thats just because you miss the shift from 2-3rd and it touches down for just a second.

should be a wild ride at the very least.

Thanks for the replies. I talked to the previous owner. He said he took it to Pacific Raceway once and got boood by the crowd. It seems they didn't like his 10 second times when he was doing 160.
I have another older turbo bike and it's a ##### to launch. It either bogs or explodes off the line. I had bars on it and it needed them. I just got a set of bars for my busa (got a deal I couldn,t pass up) and I'm debating whether or not I should mount them. I really don't want to end up being on this site as a squid video. You know the one where the guy does a wheelie and tries to hang on while the bike goes over and he's dragging the tops of his feet behind him.
The e.t. is more of a curiosity than a goal. I had just as much fun on my other bike doing a 12 as I did doing 11 flat. I just love that top end rush.
Goldenchild, hope to see you at Pacifuic Raceway if you go this year. You seem like da man for Busa performance. Do you do mapping to?

Turbo see if you can get goodenchild to tune your bike up. He'll know if you need anything for it. Sounds like you got a problem if it bogs or explodes off the line . And talk to Cache also. You should get low 9s as long as you can lanch.

About 10.40 @ 160mph...
I have a friend here in Sydney who runs 10.4 on stock setup with 180hp. I'm guessing maybe a bit quicker...
10.40 @ 160?

if my pathetic attempts at 1/4 runs I've done a bit better than that in stock form at only 130ish..

whats your guy doing?  waiting till the green light turns off before he pulls out?
Waiting for the green has NOTHING to do with ET or MPH...

Torbo bikes make MPH but not always ET due to riding bogging and spinning. Seen it happen MANY times. They are VERY hard to ride...

Jon,I will be at pacific alot as we host a few of our series races there and bremerton and sometimes mid wek they have the bikini contest how could you wanna miss those.I will be in the new shop January first and if at any time you wanna come down and get on the dyno we will work something out, since i like Carbon fiber and you know where to get it done...HINT HINT...We can get you bike right if it needs it.My friend buzzard is also really good at thelping, and I could get him over one night for a few beers after a tune.....You hear me BUZZARD,THERE'S ANOTHER TURBO COMING TO TOWN....No Wories Jon we got ya covered.

Goldenchild, sounds great. You sound like the obiwon kanobi of turbos and tuning. It's set rich now..very rich...so rich that its not smooth at 4000rpm. Two guys up here have tried to tune it out but I don't think they had the time, knowhow or intersest to solve it. I kept thinking that if I could find someone that tuned turbo Busas specifically it would be a snap. One of the two guys had never worked with power commanders at all?
It would be fantastic to see some turbo Busas whooping ass at Bremerton too. Consider me there. Thanks again--JT
