Hi Guys, I'm trying to put the reflectors back on the Busa (Flame away). Is there a best way to do this? Also, how do you do the front too? Thanks if you can help. Regards

Download the online service manual..http://www.mediafire.com/?azgxsnmtoij
Then go to "Chassis 2", and down around the 6-5 area there will be a diagram of what it takes to remove the tail section.:beerchug:

And the fronts should screw into a couple of holes on the caliper brackets. Have to go out and look at my bike to remember exactly where they go (took 'em off when I got it home and forgot), but it'll be obvious.

Before you go through all the trouble of putting them back.... why would you want to, if you looking to be more visible to motorist there are far better ways to do it than that... and far less ugly.... or does your state have inspections???

Tom- Thank you very much!! Cheers to you :beerchug: :cheerleader: Appreciate it

Hi 1166- You're gonna think I'm sick, but I like the look of the reflectors. Makes the bike look more showy imo.

Its real easy to remove. I dont have pics, but if you take the push pins out on the underside the tail, remove the frankenstein bolts, take the hump/seat off and remove the bolts under there, then the allen heads on forward section of the tail on both sides, it will slide back and off, dont forget to unplug the tail light.

It takes 15 minutes to remove the rear tail section plastic. Here's how. Take a small allen wrench and poke the 6 plastic rivet centers (located at the bottom edge of the fairing) in 1/2 way or until the first click. remove them by grabbing the whole pins with your fingernails and pull them out. grab your 12mm wrench and remove the four grab bar bolts. grab your phillips head screw driver and take out the two screws holding your locking mechanism in place for the hump/seat, dont bother with taking the cable out, the two screws make it a lot easier, and your less likely to get locked out if you have a brain fart. grab your 4mm allen wrench and remove the two screws below the front seat. you will see 2 more push rivets in the middle of the fairing in between the front and rear seat, sometimes there are 4. Take them out just like the rest and remove the plastic brace that it held in place. Take your phillips head screwdriver and pull the two screws in the center of the round rubber seat bushings. Make sure that i didn't miss anything by gently making sure everything is loose then spread the two halves gently apart and lift up and off. The tailight electrical will stop you from taking it too far but you'll see that's easily separated as well. Once you've done it you'll see your fears were not very well founded. You will now have room to put the reflectors back on. Some of the bolts/screws are in really tight and its easy to strip them, I used some wd 40 to help with the loosening process especially if there factory tight and never been removed, there easy to strip.

Fronts easy just take a 12mm socket wrench and take the top bolt out of the caliper and put it back.

MoosesBusa wrote this a few years ago and it works great. I did it to remove mine in about 30 minutes and I'm terrible with tools. You have to be careful not to strip the bolts, there in there tight.

Good one Jeffroe, and I forgot to add, put a piece of tape over the locking mechanism so you dont forget to re-attach the cable.

Damn, you guys are awesome Jeffroe and Twotone. I always get nervous when I do stuff like this for fear I will fug something up or forget how to put everything back. This helps tremendously.:beerchug::beerchug::cheerleader::cheerleader:

You need serious counciling my friend!

those little plastic clips do break from time to time. Being a 99 you might expect 1 or so to break. They can be ordered online cheap.
