Better late than never build thread

Pry should have started this sooner, but i figure it’s time to put all the poop my bike has been through in one place.

End goal for the bike is 450lbs, 450hp and a 215 mph half mile while still looking like a street bike not a hacked up race bike. The bike will always have headlights/taillights and be street ridden with cruise/quick shifter/gen 3 amenities.

Tonight is night one of the turbo build. Next time it’s on the road there will be boost, matching Brembo master cylinders, core motos, some more carbon and some more weight reduction.

Night one was really just a tear down night. Stripped everything forward of the tail and got the old exhaust off.

I swear I have more photos of my bike in this state than I do actually together

Arata off, didn’t even get enough WOT time to get the blue down the primaries lol

Test fit of the turbo.
System is an intercooled system from Scott Davis. 58mm pulsar turbo, Pulsar 45mm gate merged into the downpipe, go fast bits BOV
Bosch 200 external fuel pump and 1000cc injectors. All together should be good for 450hp comfortably on E85 and of course will be controlled by my BoostBySmith MaxxECU.

The goal is to be running by New Years Day, but we all know how self imposed deadlines go.

Bonus photo for tonight, be careful when you’re working in the inner pinch bolts. If you aren’t paying attention and let the head of the ratchet roll into the brake rotor it’ll mangle the head of the bolt. And then in a panic you’ll make it worse with an extractor bit and need to call in a professional :banghead:

This style easy out works pretty good for your situation. Good luck.

That’s basically what I have, but my drill isn’t compact enough to get square into it as I need and that’s what made it worse lol. There’s a local extraction guy that is going to come by and get it out for me. $100 well spent to not worry.

Can’t wait to see where this ends up!

Gonna end up with a few more of your pieces on it so you’ll def have the inside scoop :beerchug:

Good luck it will come out very nice you dismount the front end fast that for me is a painfull trouble

Not much real progress tonight. A childhood friend is in town for Xmas and he came over and we hung out and that ate up some time.

Got the plenum test fit and the exhaust manifold mounted. The bottom row of bolts is an absolute mother guy that had a good time with these clearances lol.

Do the TB adapters count as the third set of velocity stacks I’ve had on my bike?

IAT sensor has some clearance issues and I’m hoping turning it another 1/2 turn will take the side load pressure off of it.

Bonus parts showed up:
Redoing the entire front brake setup. Not too bad of an expense when you’re a single rotor bike lol

Tomorrow I hope to get the turbo hung and the gate and down pipe on to test fitment with where it’s going to exit and if I have time tear into some of the electrical/oiling bits

Didn’t get too much done over Xmas with family responsibilities and stuff. The turbo is mounted and everything has been test fit and works. I need to trim the fairing for the dump pipe and run the oil lines. I’m waiting on some electronics from Greg to get here and I can’t permanently mount the plenum and from there everything else will just need to be tightened up system wise.

Incase anyone was wondering, by far the hardest part of the install is the bottom 4 manifolds bolts. You can see her how much I appreciated them.

Hot side of the system and location of the dump pipe. I wish it was about 3” more forward but I think it’s still going to come out in a decent spot.

Peakaboo!

Also got the rear wheel mocked up, hardware in, etc. I have 0 regrets in my color choices and carbon and gold may be the best color combo possible. Thankfully @smithabusa used his 4 votes in the color poll to swing the tide from red lololol

The wheel is now in the hands of FedEx on its way to @Falkonworks to be measured for a sprocket side aerodisc. My brake side disc is from him and I’m stoked he is willing to make me a sprocket side one too. The basically full carbon sided wheel will match my 1 piece carbon tail when it gets here next month.
