Big Bore

As much as I would love to supercharge or go turbo on my B King the Budget isn't there. I am curious has does anyone know of one that has been converted to a 1440 big bore? OE has given me a quote. I will talk to a couple of other shops as well. I would rather not be the test case, and would love to totalk to soomeone that has done this to a King.

To do a big bore RIGHT, u are getting pretty close to turbo. I am in the process of getting a 1441 completed on my 08, and run. A lil shy of of 5000. But if one does labor themselves will save over a G!

Do you think that in the long run you should have gone turbo?

Yes and no! There isn't a close enough tuner for me to do turbo. They, from my understanding are high maintenance. NA motors from my research have lead to leSs headache, but there is a trade off, not as much hp and tq...

 I think you could save more than a grand... Carpenter Race will do a ride in/ride out at 240hp for $4800 and you would be hard pressed to find a better shop... (and they are pricey)

Well since they are sooooooooo far away from me that wouldn't be and option.

Not that it matters all that much but I have a First Gen Turbo Busa a Hahn set-up with Hahns Fuel Rail. From day one I have run a mild Tune It has been reliable as a tank with none of the Horror stories I hear about.
One of the reasons that I am thinking about either a SuperCharger or a Big Bore is I want the Power increase across the band. Not just when I am making boost. The Shop that did my turbo (out of respect for the forum I won't mention who but will let you know in a PM) Did a great job on my 05 , and quoted me $3600 for the Big Bore conversion.
My goal in asking is to find someone who has done the conversion on a B King

Carpenter is an artist and builds outstanding motors and they make some of the best power out there. He likes a lot more compression... :beerchug:
