I need help bad! I was riding down the highway around 160ish and it felt as if i hit the rev limitor so i switched gears and the bike died. I coasted to a stop and the bike wouldnt start, wouldnt even start to turn over and everytime i pushed the start button the fuel injectors would kick on. so after walking it forever i got to an off ramp and popped it, got it running but it sputtered and stalled. when i got it home i took the battery out and put it on the charger and it said it was dead. Im just hoping its a dead battery and not a blown/engine or tanny. Anyone have any suggestions id appreciate it.

If it is the battery it sure picked a bad time to die on you! If you have to buy a new battery charge it up first. Keep the battery on a charger (Battery Tender)when you are not riding. Check your cables for corrosion and apply a coat of grease or a battery specific product on your posts.

I think you might have a charging problem, which caused your battery to die.

Here it is straight out of the service manual.
