Bike feels hotter after Exhaust Mod

I recently added a PCIII commander w/ the Micron map and the Micron full exhaust to my bike. I also did the pair block off mod. Now for some reason my seems to put out more heat. I can really feel it a traffic lights. Sometimes my jeans get hot from the hear produced by the bike.

Also, I notice that I am getting lower gas milage. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks,
D-

more power, more heat, lesser fuel economy. Dont feel bad I get about 85-90 miles out of a full tank

85-90... That gotta hurt..

That does seem kinda low. I was somewhere between 170-180 before adding my Microns and am probably around 150 now, if I had to guess. Maybe I should actually pay attentionto that!

I've gotta think it's due to the base map you're using in the PCIII~ I've added a full system (HMF), granted it's not Mircon... but after having it 'custom' mapped I'm getting between 36-40mpg.. depending on how much I lay into the throttle.. and I'm still gettin the benifits of added ponies and peek performance~

So I think a custom map may very well do ya fine~ If you have someone that really knows (like JC) what they're doing in there~ You will still have your better performance and your mpg shouldn't be so low ...

Thanks! I am really enjoying my new monster!

Well damnnnnnnn..............I must twist on my busa a lil too much because all I get is about 145 per tank......
But wait its regeared as well so maybe the whole calculation is distorted.......

Cuffee, have you checked your antifreeze? I have the muzzy fan and very similar mods and I have only noticed a small change in milage and really no change in heat.

I guess I don't feel too bad.

I have no significant mods and I am only getting about 160-170 per tank. I was blaming my gearing. ( At least that's my story ).

I would gladly give up more mileage for a new pipe though!

The problem is not with the exhaust, at least I have never seen that, and I have had Yosh, Muzzy, Kerker in the past. I am guessing it is your map, a good chance your bike is running to lean if the map is not 100% on. Without a engine Dyno to really see if it is rich or lean. If it is running lean your header pipes will get very hot, than as you ride especially at low speeds the air will pass and push the hot air up through the fairing and your legs and ass will feel it.
Side note I put headers on a GT mustang and a K&N fresh air-intake system at the same time, the headers got so hot because of the leaned out condition that one you couldn't put your hand on the hood of the car, and 2 they almost glowed they were so hot. Remapping solved all that and gave me back my gas mileage and fixed the heat problem under the hood
