Bike likes to die on me...

so im on the freeway and i am doing about 90 mph. i go to get off an on ramp, its 9pm, no traffic, and i just pull in the clutch and just go to coast down to the light that was red. well, when i pull in the clutch, the rpms go from 7k'ish to 1k..except they go PAST 1k, and the bike just dies and the engine light comes on. i still had the clutch in, so i hit the starter button and the bike fires right back up at idle rpms. all this happened in about 4-5 secs. and everything is fine. same thing happened 2 me a week ago when i was leaving work. except i was GETTING on the freeway. get on the onramp, get up to about 80 and go to merge, and im doing ok. well then all traffic decided it wants to stop. so i pull in the clutch and the rpms drop (ofcourse), and it does the same thing.

what could cause this?? this has never happened b 4 in the 10,000 or so miles ive put on the bike. could it possible be because my idle is to low (when i took the biek to get new tires on, they set my idle to something like 900-950 rpms).

might want to up the idle just a tad

they are known for idle screw backing off

ok.. i figured that was the problem, just wanted 2 make sure it wasnt some other bad thing.. dont need any issues b 4 i go installing nitrous haha.

thanks guys

with that many miles would it be benificial to check the fuel filter too? it could be getting gummed up since it is an 01 with 10000+ miles...
