Going to be a bit before she's retired after all.
BMW in a year or two . So given a green light on some mods ,and Titanium hardware.
Started by rack delete since it was never used. The steel handle bars / risers exchange for aluminum bars with more rise ,and pull back sweep to achieve the same position.
New keyless fuel cap . Brembo bar clamp I had laying around. misc titanium bolts also on tap in the secret stash drawer.
What is circled on paper is weight back on Betty. The rest came off.

The bike is 20 , and sticker was never removed along with a few others . It was not so bad with the stock cap , but now I have been debating removal . New they remove easy , but at this age not so easy . Worried may scratch tank .

Just remember you'll need some mods right off the bat on that BMW. Sargent Seat, probably bars and maybe lower pegs. Don't remember if the 800 is can-bus, but you will quickly realize why I'm so into digital power blocks! Then every self respecting BMW owner has to have the back-off brake light mod too.

The 800 may be skipped for a 1200R
She saw one ,and sat on it yesterday with the low seat . ,and ofcourse there is the RT 1250
That I like . Discussion of her moving to Busa has been kicked around also .

To me there are 2 BMW models that are exceptional, the 1200 series and the S1000R. Rest of the line is not so amazing. The 1250 is a good bike for you all. You won't lose the fun factor of the Bandit as much. The 1200 series has a lot of development miles on it, and it's a bike that has been maximized to it's mission and stands above most any true road-focused adventure bike. Of course if you want to hooligan a bit, the KTM is pretty much an adventure-busa. Honestly, once you get used to the luxury of the (after market) saddle of a BMW you get spoiled pretty quick. You can ride BMWs. They will let you borrow one for a weekend.

I like the Busa idea. You know them well and can lower it. Did she ever ride yours?

WD40 is good for that leftover goo. The previous owner of my 79 CBX had placed a sticker on the tank that said, ‘Yes it's fast and no you can’t ride it’ Had been on there for years and with heat and WD40 it all came right off. Waxed it real good after and voila, no more sticker or residue.
