'08 Gry/Blk....I've blown the same instrument panel fuse twice over the past two weeks, luckly I was around the corner from the house each time b/c the brake light doesn't work either when that happens....What could be causing that to keep happening??????

And of course warranty period expired a couple of months ago.

Sounds like there is a short somewhere.... Start with the simple, lose connections come to mind. Have you added or changed anything to the factory wire harness?

I JUST got done with this problem. I got rid of the shovel and made my own license plate bracket. I ordered some LED tag light bolts to light my plate. I wired it all up, soldered it together, covered ith electrical tape and when I pulled the shrink tube over the connection, I actually pulled the tape off. This caused the wires to keep touching and I would blow the fuse.

If you've done any mods to the wiring, check them. It could be simple. Good luck:beerchug:

No, no changes to the factory wiring harness and had the recall checked last year. Haven't had a chance to look around in it yet to see if something is loose or rubbing from when I changed out the last blown fuse, that'll be my mission this weekend. I'll post what I find if anything.

I think Captain had something similar with his. IIRC, it was something with the routing of the wiring harness...

Let me tell ya what, I went through about 200 fuses and pulled my bike completely apart in Eureka springs... In the end it was the harness that was bad from the ignition switch in the factory recall. The first dealership that checked it said it was Okay but I still had probelms... I took it to a second dealership and they told me it was bad and they replaced it and I havent had a problem since...

Get a second opinion on the harness....

By the way 2008 Blk / Gry is what have too

That happened to me the first night of bike week but it was because I over loaded the fuse by installing air horns without using the relay...kind of dumb but I was in a rush

My tag light wire got rubbed into when loading and caused this. Don't know if it has to do with comp werkes kit or not. Fixed it when I had all my plastics off. No problems since the re route.
