Books about the El Camino?

Can anyone recommend some good books about the Chevy El Camino? I'm seriously toying around the idea of picking one up to do a makeover on, but I can't decide on a year... I've got it narrowed down to 3rd gen, but I'd like to see some good closeup pics of the interior and exterior to see which year-to-year changes I like better.

What year are you calling the third generation? Some people forget about some of the early years.

59-60 or was it 61
64-67
68-72
73-77
78-87 I think.

I've had a couple and loved them.
If 68-72 the The 70 is going to be the most popular, closer to the one of a kind. The 69 camaro of the el caminos. Also going to be the highest. The 71-72 would be my 2nd choice. Of the 73-77, The 76 and 76 had rectangular headlights which I think look better.

59-60 if memory serves correct.

My guess is he's thinking the 73-77 model year. I had a 78... I miss her BAD. I had the plan of a LS1 with a 6-speed and a sport suspension. The setup I had in mind pulled a solid G on the skid pad. It was on a local guys El Camino he used to Rally Race. I've never seen the LS1 with 6-speed before, but GMbusa was telling me of a guy in the DC area with an LS2 and 6-speed that looks factory installed... I'm gonna ask the guy if he wants to trade straight up for a 93 caddy if I see him.

So it's a sign from God! I gotta trade the Caddy for an Elky! Gmbusa called me this morning and told me about the LS2 Elky... And now this!

We kinda got away from the question at hand... I know of no books on our beloved Cowboy Cadillacs... Closest thing would be the Malibu or Chevelle, dependent on the year of Elky you're looking at...

what kind of books
Like detailed picture history type books.

And I'm thinking 3rd gen like '68-72. Something about the '73 and up just looks kinda, I dunno, off. Reminds me of several cheesy 70's movies.

I found 3 books so far that look promising, but none of my local book stores have very much in the way of selection when it comes to car books.

Chevrolet El Camino, 1959-82 Photofacts (Donald Wood)
Chevrolet El Camino: Including GMC Sprint & Caballero (Monty Montgomery)
El Camino by Chevrolet (Mike Mueller)

Can anyone tell me if they're any good, or should I look at something different?
