So after catching a lot of heat about my lids being antiques and out of date, blah blah blah, I pulled the trigger on the new X15 Shoei, (I will be getting an Corsair X as well) Let me start with saying it’s nice and fitment is perfect BUT!!!!!!!!! It’s loud AF! The do not recommend this helmet without ear plugs. It’s got great air flow and a nice wide view but it IS LOUD. I put my cordo in it for navigation and tunes but gonna have to rethink this whole music/nav thing for a bike.

Hi. Look at the A Star Supertech R10. I an selling my Suomy SR-GP Carbon to get the A Star.

You should be able to hear the helmet speakers fine with earplugs in.
My RF1200 is loud too, and I rarely use the com, but I can hear them better with earplugs in...which I always wear on any sportbike.

A bit disappointing to hear that the Shoei is so loud. Not sure if this is a solution for you or not. Decibullz makes a Bluetooth setup that sounds interesting. I have been wearing their Custom molded Ear plugs for years now and highly recommend them. They are custom molded to your ear and the tips are easily replaceable. I tried all the others and they are my go to ear plug right now. The Surefires are a close second, just not as comfortable.

I use your first link, they are great once the helmet is on my noggin.

Getting my helmet on my noggin without pulling them out place is a process of its own though, especially if one is in a rush to get going fast from taking a break.

I am able to still here somewhat while wearing earplugs, but still there has to be a better option, I may approach a car stereo place and see what they may could offer
