Bought the demo

So yesterday I went to the local dealer who had a black 08. No-one had ridden it - it was just PDIed and taxed and looking all cool and brooding and shiney. Took it for a 120 mile test ride. Initially I was nervous of all that power (never ridden anything more than about 130bhp) but found it only goes wild when you ask it to. It can be a real pussycat too.

So got back to the dealer with a big smile that wasn't going to stop. Dealer is an old friend and admitted they had two demo Busas. So would I like to buy the one I just rode at a discount? You bet I did! So did the deal, handed over the Bonneville and rode her home! The long way...

Got up early this morning tomake sure I hadn;t dreamt it. Nope - there she is waiting. I am just so glad I didn't chicken out of taking that test ride. It was all the press hype I think. Shouldn't have got to me - I've been riding for 35 years. But nothing, nothing was ever like the Busa.

Wish I could do a 120 km test drive - then buy it as used!

Stealer here will not let you do test drives, buy it first, drive down the street, you don't like it, they tear up the paperwork

Otherwise it's yours.

Nice! If I were to own only one bike I think the Busa would be the obvious choice. Speed, power, handling, comfort, looks......yea, it's all there. Enjoy

Thanks everyone. Dunno how I had so much luck. Been out today but only got 100 miles on her. Getting dark here now in Cornwall so can;t see the diesel, cow $hit ect. Didn;t want to do riding in the dark when it's so new (wimp!). More tomorrow though. Lovin' it!

Retail here is £9990 OTR. Not sure whatthe exchange rate is but that sounds about right. So how much are they in the USA? How ripped off are we?
