Brake lines

dunno, but I love my goodridge kevlars. I am sure they are all good for the same reasons. Prolly any is better than stock stuff.

what is the big craze about changing the brake lines? My stock ones seem to be fine.

Its cool o be fast but noone ever thinks about stopping.
I have galfers, an aftermarket pad will help too.
I've even had apair of generics on my race bikes, they all work about the same.
If your not getting paid to race you'll never know the difference, but anythings better than stock.

Swapping the brake lines for something in stainless steel braid or kevlar is done to improve the feel of the brakes.

The stock rubber brake lines will expand slightly under pressure, especially when hot. Under hard or frequent braking this can cause them to feel springy or spongy -- or behave a little less predictably. This is most true at the hardest point of braking before causing them to lock up.

Aftermarket lines do no expand much at all, even under extreme conditions. So they will feel better. You will better be able to feel the action of the brakes and sense the point of lock-up. I'd say it is analogous to having a sports suspension in a car versus a touring suspension -- one allows you to feel the road better.

What they do not do is increase braking power, or cause the brakes to grab sooner in the lever action. Swapping the brake pads and possibly rotors would be needed for that.
