Brake pad thickness

So I inspected front pads. 3.2 mm avg thickness after 3200 miles. Anyone know what new pads oem are? I get tons of brake dust so I know they wear quick. Anyone replaced theirs yet?

I'm of no help, but curious as well. I'd like to get some that produce less dust though, even at the cost of a little less bite.

I have the EBC HH Sintered Pros and they seem to last forever, I picked up another set as I noted the set in the bike were looking thin...the new set aren't much thicker.....

Yea so heres the big issue. No one is listing stuff brake wise for Gen3 unless I am totally missing it. Even in the service manual theres no recommended min pad thickness either. Really curious about the thickness of new pads compared to what i have now.

I can't see you needing new pads , unless you have been using it around the race track for 3200 miles,
Mine lasted a long time , 15000 or more miles but I am light on the brakes

Have a look at some pads in a dealers ,you wil see there's not much meat on them to start with. Take a photo to let us see and there is a wear indicator on them also

Here's one of the front calipers.

Are both front sets of pads wearing that way?

You can talk to these guys.
They make great stuff...including for all the big names...they are their supplier.
They have nothing listed for gen3's yet though.

So I ordered my pads man. I am down to 2.5mm from 3.2 mm when I made this post. When I get them I will give you new VS old measurements. 2mm is the recommended replacement thickness. Minimum by state inspection is 1/16th inch or 1.6 mm . What has me is look how far out the pistons are on this.

I checked the EBC HH Sintered pads I have on the bike and thought I had better order some new ones and replace them...when the new ones arrived, they weren't much thicker than what I had on the bike....

I'm pretty easy on my brakes though, I use engine braking whenever I can.
