hey, braking systems have a set of floaters with carbon fiber carriers or aluminum . for about 550.00 a set from parts unlimited

hey, the rotors that i am talking of have carbon fiber carriers or aluminum, not the rotor it self they are perfect for the street.rotor is iron or stainless.

I wouldn't recommend c/f rotors for the road, not enough feel and they need a lot of heat to work properly.

Similarly the Aluminium ones may struggle and warp with such a heavy bike - and wear would be a problem.

I've ordered what I believe is the best solution/value for money, PFM (Performance Friction Materials) Ductile Iron Rotor set, £400 but I'm sure they'd be far cheaper in the US more like $400 even though they are made in England!

The Ductile Iron Rotors are supposed to take heat away from the pad faster than any other material, reducing/illiminating what is the Busa's worst problem. boiled fluid.

Of course if you are feeling flush you could opt for the full kit, ductile Iron rotor + AP Racing six pot billit calipers ($999US) the ultimate!

I stoped in the shop this week after seeing their add in Super Bike 2000 and they have Busa lines, disks, and pads in stock. They have several different colors of line to choose from, as well as types of fittings.
The General Manager Sandro Milesi said they drop ship - if you care.

Anyone else have warped rotors? Looking to buy some after market floating rotors. Whats the best brand and model and cheapest place to buy them?

The colors refered to in the reply above are the coatings around the lines themselves.
Yes there were different banjo bolts as well.

Just a note about the above post re colours, most coloured banjo bolts etc are Alloy, I personally wouldn't use Alloy bango bolts in my brake system, strickly for racers only who don't mind replacing parts frequently.

For your own safety use only steel or stainless steel Banjo bolts, they may not look as nice but they won't sheer or thread when you least expect them to!!

Be safe!

Bill, The "Braketech" Ductile Iron rotors at around $330 each are dearer than the PFM ones (I think YoyoDyne (www.yoyodyneTi.com) do the PFM Rotors at about $270 each and the PFM ones look much better! (I know brakes aren't supposed to be about looks, but hey!)

Be sure Yoyo are selling the Ductile Iron Rotors at that price, PFM do cheap aluminium ones too!

PS the Ultimate Busa stoppers (AP Racing Six pots + PFN DI rotors) come in at $1795. (£999 in the UK.)
