Break In and Road Trip

Ft Campbell Busa

Registered
Hey guys, I am hitting 600 miles now and getting ready to get her serviced at the stealership. I was wondering can I go on a long road trip after that? I would like to ride to Florida (12 hours by car) if she is all broke in. I did a little shorter ride to Detroit last year on my YZF600R. I had a blast! I would love to make the trip on the Busa which is actually more comfortable. I have a few more weeks of leave left so I can wait and put more miles on her if this is not a good idea. This is one of those goals that I set in Iraq to do when I got home a couple months back. The first was to get the bike and the second was to ride it to visit family in Florida. Thanks for any input.

Sure, just vary your speed and rpms for the trip and you should be fine. I flew to SoCal to find my LE and rode it back 460 miles and it only had 4 miles on the odo. I took hiway 1 and 101 so I wouldn't drone on the freeway for hours with a new motor. Have a great ride!

Have a good time...just don't do a steady speed (rpm) for too long...run it
up AND down thru the gears every once and a while

... just nail the throttle the whole way!

But get a radar detector first!

LOL, I actually leaned on her a bit yesterday on the highway coming back from the dealer getting my plate. I cannot believe how fast this bike is!

I cant go until after this weekend anyways. NMRA World finals are in Bowling Green Ky! National Mustang Racing Association............ I will leave after that.

Hooooaaaaaah, lol. I am at Ft Campbell and planning on riding to Riverview outside Tampa. It is a haul and I am trying to figure out if I want to carry a rucsack that far on my back, lol.

Welcome. Enjoy the ride. Keep an eye on your gauges. That is when traveling below the speed of light. And thanks for serving
