Brocks clutch mod and cushion kit

I took some pictures during install in case anyone gets stuck. I think it would have helped me to see the ball seat on the cam before starting. It was pretty straight forward, but the parts no longer needed on the S13-CCK print did not match up with my left over parts. I double checked the assembly to make sure what I had matched page 3 of the print and then buttoned it up. My leftovers are in my hand in picture 163. Everything worked great and clutch action at the dragstrip was much better. If you do a lot of riding in traffic, you may want to leave the stock springs in except when at the track. After a while, the heavier pull on the clutch starts to get difficult.

Pics are great. Captioning each one for clarity for those that have never been through this procedure would help.

According to Bogus the heavier springs wouldn't bother me in traffic; even with my shorties

Nice write up and glad it worked well for ya at the track.

That was my original intent. I actually took some notes when I was taking the pictures and then proceeded to lose them :) I am catching up on computer stuff and thought I should at least post the pics so they would show up in the search engine for people in need. The pictures are in sequential order. I am a big fan of the improvement over the stock clutch. It is fine on the highway too, but I am nervous about the next time I end up in prolonged stop and go. I may have to pull over and give the left hand a rest.

Uh did he say pic 163 ????

I am thinking about this solely because I can't stand that occasionak 'clunk' you get from time to time. Did it smooth out the clutch and get rid of the clunk ?

Seemed to tighten up the whole drivetrain.
No more clunks.
You can lock the rear wheel in a downshift if you don't know that you can.
I have always had bikes that could do that so I prefer it.

Sorry, I thought the filenames would show :) It is the only picture with my hand in it.

Yes, it got rid of the clunk if by clunk you mean the skipping like feeling when launching hard. It feels nice and tight now, that is for sure.

Really that sounds great i cant stand those frakkin clunks
Whats the $$ for that upgrade?

thanks for the pics, i got lost when i had 2 friction plates left instead of one, thick plate with small friction squares not used. just like the pic. love the feel of the clutch now.

How hard is the clutch pull with the springs included with the cushion kit? I've already done the clutch mod with the spacers and really don't want much stiffer pull considering how much city driving I do. I've had the cusion since last fall but I'm concerned the pull might be too hard for everyday use.
