Brock's penta carbon or M4 exhaust

I’ve been researching for months and am currently between the M4, Penta and CT titanium myself. If M4 offered a titanium midpipe, I prob would have already ordered.

I don’t have the answer, but what type of riding are you doing? I think there’s a difference in where the power is made with each setup. IE high rpm drag racing vs midrange for pounding backroads.

Brocks CT.

I'm going for a more midrange at the moment. I have been looking at the CT.

So, the Penta is louder than the M4?

lol...no, they are All ear bleedingly loud with their baffles out.
There will be a slight, slight, difference in tone with a carbon fiber muffler, vs steel, titanium, aluminun, etc, where the metal mufflers sound more raspy, vs the carbon fiber, which sound more, muffled, lol, for lack of a better description.
The carbon fiber muffler can also be grabbed bare handed with the bike running, it will be hot, but not melt skin off hot like a metal muffler.
I've seen quite a few boots melted by short metal mufflers, including mine...on other bikes.
Think of that in terms of radiant heat, especially if you ride at low speeds, heavy traffic, or with a passenger.
If you cruise backroads, or drag race, it really isn't an issue.
Which sounds better is all personal opinion.

M4 FOREVER ALL YOU BROCKS BOIS CAN FIGHT ME!

I loved my M4, and only got rid of it because I wanted a full ti exhaust. It is definitly quieter than the Penta
Reasons to get an M4:
- Cost. You’ll have enough leftover to buy stacks and a flash vs brocks
- Unique. Almost every bike out there you see has a Brock’s. Be different.
- Magic Mike from QuikCycles who builds some of the baddest poop in the country has an M4 on his personal bike because he doesn’t see another exhaust that significantly out performs the M4. If it’s good enough for the dude who can run any exhaust he wants, it’s good enough for us
- it’s the only full carbon can, and more carbon more better
- on my bike, with carbon smith stacks, Chris Moore flash and DNA filter the M4 was faster 40-150 on the draggy.
- it’s available and in stock in quite a few places

Cons:
- it’s not titanium

If money is no object, CT all day long. But I would take an M4 over a Penta any day of the week.

- Signed, an Arata exhaust owner.

No M4 full titanium exhaust for the gen2 or 3?
They've had them for the Gsxr1k for years.
I havn't looked at their site lately.

Correct. I called them today and asked if it was an option, if they may make one in the future, or even if they would make me a titanium mid pipe. I was firmly told no.

If someone made a carbon can and titanium pipe, I could move on to the next thing to overthink.

if you aren’t racing or have a stock bike, you are splitting hairs with full exhaust system hp #s. both full systems will make more than stock. the shorter the exh, the louder it will probably be but both will sound better than stock. go with the system you think looks better or if money is an issue go with the one you get a better price.

I *think* Akra made a system like this once upon a time for the Gen 2s.

Really the M4 got me at first cuz the all carbon can. Plus the shape of the new Gen stuff and the full length cans with the exhaust pipe stick out out of the top of the can just eh.

Akropovic did make a full single titanium header and midpipe with a carbon fiber muffler for the gen1.
I think @Kiwi Rider has one on his??

They did have a small run of gen2 versions as well, ti header with cf muffler, before going to a stainless steel header.
They also had a gen2 full dual titanium, but only available with titanium mufflers, you had to buy the cf mufflers seperate as slipons, or else get the full dual ss header, that came with cf mufflers, kind of strange how they do some things.

Have the full M4 with stainless steel header, short midpipe, and carbon fiber muffler on the '18 Gsxr1k
I think it was around $1200-$1300
and the same muffler with the titanium header is $2k, and around 5 or 6 lbs lighter.
Moore Mafia(who dyno tuned it) said the M4 made the same power as the Penta Carbon.
1k vs Gen3, apples vs oranges I know, but some simularities and the same tech.

I love my M4 exhaust because a carbon fiber muffler looks awesome and goes better with a black bike. I did want the Brocks titanium exhaust but every time I looked it was out of stock. You can't go wrong either way but honestly our bikes don't make that much more power with a full exhaust vs stock, so I can't imagine full exhaust vs full exhaust varying by more than what a dyno would vary from one run to another anyway. With the M4 I did not realize they recommend you repack the muffler (can't remember the interval) which I wasn't happy about. Also the baffle for the M4 was raspy so I took it out. Don't really like loud exhausts anymore so I just use Surefire sonic defender ep3 earplugs and makes it sound nice and deep lol
