wow...they fired Shanahan ???

It's funny how your an NFL God/Genius and then in the
"what have done for me lately"....unemployeed.

I think he's one of the best and wont be unemployed for long.
I also think he's a victim of free agency, NFL teams are rampant
with inconsistancy because no one stays put. It's all about me and
my next team/contract.

wonder if Cowboys will suffer the same fate even though J Jones said no changes.....until they watched the eagles play last saturday.:dunno:

Never been a big fan of phillips, don't think he has a clue...he was just
ridding the parcels wave.

Jones was an IDIOT to get rid of Johnson...

What amazes me is how much some of these guys suck, the amount of
money they make, they do inept job, and move on as recycled garbage
to another high paying job..and another...and another...

Case in point (as a Bears fan) they hire Jauron form the Jags (defensive Co)
in jax I think the highest ranking Jauron's defense got was like 23rd...Bears
hire him as head coach and defense guru...(what ???) after several years in
mediocraty we move directly to totally sucking arse. Finally they let Jauronstedt
go, he move on to Buffalo as def. co. and then head coach again ???
If he had no clue what he was doing in Chicago...

Point two Wandstedt...OMG what a tool. Good defense in Dallas but that was
personel. With those players I could have drawn plays in the dirt and been
hailed as genius. The proof in that he left, Dallas Def. didn't miss a beat
and was still 1 or 2 in the nfl. He comes to Chitown and after several years
of mediocraty...move to directly to suckdom. And here's the part I don't
understand...over and over and over again, 3 rd 5 and he's got the corner
playing 15 yrds off the reciever. It's like watching a slow trainwreck...
He gets fired/hired by his buddy and subsiquently runs Miami right into the
ground....how much fn' money are these people making...
So he gets recycled to a college head coaching job...where has this guy
ever shown he knows anything about being a head coach or football.
His strategy and philosophy doesn't work, especially to the tune of a million
dollars a year..rant off. :banghead:

I am a bronco fan its a sad day for all of us I will be wearing my black arm band tomorrow.

Black is the official color of the Raiders. Don't listen to the dark side.......

Bronco's fans, have no fear. As a life long Raiders fan, I can say with a degree of certainty, that Al Davis will probably hire Shanahan back (forgetting that they hate each other) for an unfathomable sum. Shanahan will accept, knowing that he can simply collect large sums of contract money even though Al will not actually allow him to do what a coach is supposed to do. Shanahan also knows that Al will fire him before the year is out, giving him a year off and an opportunity to hand pick which team he will accept a REAL job from, knowing that he pocketed cash for nothing while in Oakland.

Oh, and Al will offer up JMR, McFadden, Fargas, Bush and Tommy Kelly to the Broncos for Champ Bailey...only to release Bailey 5 games into the 2009 season.

Meanwhile, the Broncos will hire Bill Cower (sp?) and win the next SB while the Raiders struggle to not be the worst team in the league.

C'est la vie. :banghead:

Ok, ok, ok...the above may not be reality, but it's probably not far from it! :(

- The rantings of a Raiders fan during the Al's twilight years. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I heard that! Damn - too bad!

On the upside...the Chiefs could use a good coach :poke:

This was a shocker...but then again the writing was on the wall. The numbers are what carried the weight in the end I think along with this horrific 3 game meltdown. I also believe that Shanahan won't be without a job for long.

He can stand at the unemployment line with frickin Romeo Crennel who SHOULD have been fired a long time ago!

Maybe my Browns will start to rebuild now....oh and BTW Ravens suck!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a big fan of Lovie Smith and think the Bears could do
much better. At times there defense blow chunks, I see the bears
struggling like hell to complete a pass to a WR, while the other team
completes pass after pass to a wide open wr without even a defender
in the picture. Not a coup for a "defensive guru" like Lovie. Gawd I hate
zone defense. That and his Rex Grossman lovefest cost the Bears a
real shot against the colts in the SB.

The Bears win (when they do win) in spite of Lovie, he adds nothing.
Would love to see him gone, but his not his time yet. He got a couple
more years of futility to go thru.
