same hereI just installed my set yesterday and no your heels won't touch the stock exhaust. Though my big feet do rub up against the nub on the kick stand.
You should ride for a week or two, you will find that your heels will easily rest on the mid pipes after riding for a bit unless you are always on your toes on the pegs.. I have 13,000 miles on mine (before the TiForce pipe) and the mid pipes end up almost like a running board at times..I just installed my set yesterday and no your heels won't touch the stock exhaust. Though my big feet do rub up against the nub on the kick stand.
Do you have a picture of the shift lever on your bike?more like an 1.5" drop and yes it does make a tremendous difference if you ride long hours. It took a ride that became uncomfortable at 200 miles or so and made it comfy out to 2 or 3 times that far
And yes, you need to adjust both brake and shifter to accommodate the change.. the threaded rod on the brake adj, needs trimmed about a 1/4". The shifter can just be rolled down a notch or 2.. I found that the shifter sits a bit too far inboard after the mod and so the cheapo shifter lever off ebay fixed that issue for me..
Back to the "heel on pipe" issue, look at the photo poppy posted.. keep in mind that that mid pipe is also angled and runs at an angle to the peg (runs above and below the pegs level) it takes little or no effort to rest your heels on the pipe.. You just need to put a few miles on the mod to see this part.. Wont hurt a thing however so is really a "non issue"
