BURNING OIL

I wish I could spell

Im currently on my 5th Busa and this one is the first that has burnt oil to the point that I have to top it up in between services, its not major but it bothers me.

Its a 2004 with 18,000 miles on the clock. I bought it in 2012 with only 7000 miles so it had not been used much at all, some years it only covered 30 miles.

It does not smoke while running or on start up, in fact the only time I have seen any smoke was when it was on the dyno at full rpm.

Im thinking it could be the valve stem seals that had become dry during the periods it was not used.

What are your thoughts please, What should I check to find the problem.

Thanks

You need to do a compression test and a leak down test, to see what is going on!

Ok well just done the compression test, the first thing I see is that No4 spark plug is a little wet so checked TB sync and that's all good TPS Ok too. So carries on with comp test, The results were not good.

1) 144 psi
2) 142
3) 140
4) 132

so something is going on with number 4. Its supposed to be between 171 and 228psi so not good

Still making good power 170rwhp a couple weeks ago.

I don't know how to do a leak down test and definitely wont have the equipment either. Will have to do a bit of research, meanwhile what next.
