I've seen more pics of *DIFFERENT* busas over the past year with cracks in the frame welds up front than I have 10's with cracked frames. In fact I've only seen that one 10R frame cracked documented in pics.thats what people get for buying a kawasuuuuuuki. hehe
You mean the cracked busa SUB frame?I've seen more pics of *DIFFERENT* busas over the past year with cracks in the frame welds up front than I have 10's with cracked frames. In fact I've only seen that one 10R frame cracked documented in pics.thats what people get for buying a kawasuuuuuuki. heheThe rest could just be internet bullshid. Someone saw those pics and all of a sudden had a friend who knew this guy who dated a girl whose father had a 10R and his frame cracked, too.I kept an eye on the welds on Train because I had seen pics of more than one busa with the problem. I'm keepin' an eye on the 10 frame just in case as well...
Yeah, the crackin' frames could be a real widespread epidemic soon. Who knows. I wouldn't go callin' all of 'em lemons based on a couple pics of one example of the problem on the internet. I know you were prolly jokin' anyway, but maybe you haven't heard about/seen the cracked busa frame pics?If I had 'em saved I'd post 'em up. Maybe somebody has 'em or knows where to find 'em...
Nope, I'm talkin' about the welds at the front of the frame where the steering stem is. Turn your bars all the way either way and look down by the triples on the frame. I've seen pics from more than one busa that had cracks there. I'm almost dead certain that one of them was from this site. Whoever it was was either postin' about tryin' to weld it back up or was askin' if he could weld it back up. If I remember correctly the ins company ended up totallin' that bike out. Maybe someone else will remember who it was...You mean the cracked busa SUB frame?
Yes, in mid-2000 the aluminum subframe was replaced with steel to solve the problem.
I have never seen a cracked Busa frame from wheelieing in 5 years of production. However, I have now seen a pic of a ZX-10R cracked like that in the first year.
Yeah, that's the same two pics I've seen posted all over the net. All the 10 frame threads have those same pics. No other documented cases that I've seen other than that one. Here are the pics from SH.org

Seen pics of at least one other busa with the same cracks but it's been so long ago now that it's impossible to remember where. Maybe they were on here, too...
Yes.Hey BT is it possible that those cracked busa frames that you have seen pics of were in a wreck at one time or another? I've never seen a busa frame that cracked other than one thats been crashed at some point.
You know that we have to give you some hell now that you ride a kaw.
