Burned but not forgotten.

Well I got a call Friday 03/27/09 that my parents house was on fire. There is really no gentle way of someone breaking that news to you. My initial fear / concern was, did everyone make it out. The answer, thank God was yes. Actually my mom had left about two hours before the fire department recieved the call. I got there as quick as I could hoping for the best but it was pretty bad. I have never really been exposed to how intense a house fire can be. It is still taking me time to wrap my head around it. My parents lost almost everything either from the fire or smoke and water damage. Well one of the casualties as you have probably guessed by now was Ol' Blue, my 2000 Hayabusa. I had just dropped the bike off two days earlier for safe keeping since they were calling for bad weather. According to the fire department it looks like an electrical outlet shorted out causing the blaze. Thankfully the house and the bike were insured. I also lost three helmets, two riding jackets, gloves, my pitbull stands, etc. Word of advice to all, insure your stuff and make a video of everything in your house and garage and keep it in a safety deposit box. It will be a great help if something unfortunate like this happens to you. We have been trying to remember everything that was lost and it is almost impossible. Not sure how much they are going to give me for the bike but the search is on for a replacement. Feel free to let me know of any for sale. Thanks for listening everybody and be safe!

Sorry to hear about the losses. I'm glad everyone is okay. Home owners insurance should be covering that. Looks like it's time for an upgrade.

Holy Crap....I am very happy everyone is ok...AND that you have insurance...

Oh man, that is so sad! Sorry to hear this happened, but glad everyone got out safely.

The pics of the Busa after are so sad to see. :( Poor baby, there is nothing left of 'em!

Man sorry about your loss, glad everyone is OK. Time for a Gen II, now you'll know what real power is.

sorry for your loss bro. My house burned when I was in high school...it just doesn't sit too good with ya. We had some raccoons chew through the wires on our power box n that is what set ours off.

I'm glad everyone is ok. Take that insurance check and get a gen2...you will not be disappointed!

Wow!! I'm glad that no one was hurt! Sorry about the loss...
