busa clutch plates burnt in spots.....

Just took apart my clutch to oil plates and I noticed that all of my metal plates were marked, or burnt to a wicked dark blue, in about three spots on the plates (about 1 inch long each). as i pulled them off, there were burn marks front and rear at approx. the 12, 5, and 8 o'clock positions on all of the plates, so they are all getting hot in the same places. I have the schnitz clutch mod done....do i need to replace plates, or id this common?

Make sure your total stack height of plates is 2.00 " . As little as 1/16" of an inch less than that can cause pressure plate to bottom out on inner hub. I have a substitute, using another brand of bike, ( '83 Kaw GPZ 750, '77 ~ '82 KZ 650, etc. ) and Barnett combo, that works well. For detail e-mail: chrisdolan@webtv.net

stickem on a flat stone and see if they are flat an thow them back in.if you have any glazing on the fibres glass bead them very lightly.ive done this for years on the drag bike and street bikes.as long as they mic.good and are flat with no cracks etc.use em again.
