I'm going to test and tune next week , i have the bike lowered in the rear and a strap for the front ..Do any of you busa drag racers have a picture of you strap set up? if so please post it..Last thing ...What air pressure are you running in your stock rear busa tire?.... Thanks Lee..

I run about 32 in my shinko.... try different pressures.

I would do a mild burnout, about 5-10 seconds and see how it hooks with stock pressure. you may be able to run stock pressure...

good luck... its a blast.

Should be pics of mine in the Drag Racing section but....

Put the release clip on the right side(sitting on the bike).  Run the strap up and over the neck of the frame(between the steering neck and 2-gas tank bolts).

Also, MAKE SURE YOU RUN THE STRAP UNDER ALL THE LINES!  DO NOT YANK IT DOWN OVER THE LINES THAT RUN DOWN THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES!  Also when you yank it down, make sure you have even movement side to side(turning back and forth).  If it's binding up release the strap, straighten it and then yank it down again.  (NO BINDING or it can cause you to crash from a tank slapper!)

P.S. I would have ran it bone stock first to see what the bike will do.  A bike is totally different on the track then on the street!  You need practice launching it smooth before you launch it hard....IMO! Same with the tire pressure. If you haven't raced before, you don't need to be messing with that stuff now. Get some seat time then try and go faster.

Or have you been before?

I ran with a stock tire. Sucked

Damn thing spun threw first gear and when i shifted to second it hooked and wheelied. I lowered the pressure enough where i was able to press the tire and it went in a little. (had to push really hard). It hooked too much then did a sick wheelie. but i think it was just the lane cause i went to the other lane and the bike started to come up but lost traction and it did this about 3 times before i let off it. My stockers nvr been changed from 01 so it was pretty old. Also when you strap it run your strap under all your cables and stuff. And dont ride strapped on the street, may lead to serious injuries and death

When my bike was stock and went to the track with the stock tire I ran 22#'s of air in it. Don't go through the water box! If you go through the water box DO NOT spin the tire while in it. Water will fling up in your inner fender and will drip on your tire while you're staging the bike.Do a good burnout and try to lean it side to side while doing the burnout. CAUTION!!! Be careful! Make sure your feet are planted well and don't lean it too much until you're comfortable with it. Be safe and good luck!

Exactly what the other's have said...But most importantly be careful get to know what the bike will do and the characteristics of the track...

Thanks Guys .. I have been drag racing cars and bike for 34 years and i know this track very well . The bikes i have raced in the past inclued a few turbo bikes ...But the busa is a new game for me ...One > no wheely bar. Two> I have never strapped a front end down , we allways had the bike stretched and front end raked to 36 deg ..Three > I never run a street tire ....
I will give it a try without the strap and make a few easy passes ...I May not even try the strap till the next time out..

Thanks guys , i'll post the outcome next week ...Lee..

Even if it's strapped all the way up front, it can still stand up when launching. Don't ask me how i know........
