hey guys, is it just me or my bike doesnt feel as fast as it should be? like under 6 thousand RPM when i roll on the throttle i just feel like i should get a liiitle more kick out of it . its a 2003 limited with a full akropovic exhaust. im getting power commander 3 usb soon:D:D

by the way, its been under 6 degrees celcius for the past two weeks an when i turned my bike on for the first time in a few days it died on me, the lights seemed really dim until i revved the engine then they would get brighter, im assuming this is the battery due to sitting in the cold? thanks

a bad battery will play H%^& with an ECU ... that could be PART of the problem, also you REALLY need a pc3 its got holes all over the map , i have the same exhaust but with a pc3 and no holes ....

hope it helps, JP

every bike I have ever owned felt slower a month after I bought it. :)

I thought the samething. But I figured out the answer.

bigger cams, pistons, displacement, compresion, and of coarse sprockets. It's almost perfect now:cheerleader::beerchug:

lol, yea maybe its just meee. how much are bigger cams for the busa? is it a hard install....and oh yea....how do they make the bike faster lol. thanks:beerchug:

Its a big ole slow winding motor, what do you expect....a liter bike?

not always the answer.. for every change in upper end power, there is "usually" a price to be paid in bottom end power.. (nothing is free)

Tuning what you have or a sprocket change is probably the best move to start out with..

What/where do you ride the bike?

Call Velocity or RCC. I will take a while to get use to the power,........I promise.

Easy mods: New battery ($70-80) , spark plugs ($20), 43t rear sprocket ($70), PCIII-USB ($285) w/ custom dyno runs and map ($250), etc.

I gotta gree with Muffin Man  Some bolt on mods including gearing with a good tune and the busa will wake right up. Mine felt a little soft stock...but with the usual mods and some gears its like riding an instant on bottle rocket now. The power hits everywhere, at any r's, hard and fast  Rpm's have kinda become secondary

i think im gonna do the 43 rear sproclet reaaaaaal soon . how does this effect my rpm i dont want my bike screaming all the time and running at high rpms. thanks guys:beerchug:

When you install an exhaust like akro it will feel more sluggish on bottom end because it does not have the backpressure your stock has. Tuning will help but mid to high revs is where bigger diamater pipes really kick in. Tune first then learn to drop a gear and get it up to 8k and hammer it and it will feel better, still not happy, 43 or 44 tooth rear sprocket. If these things dont work, hide your credit card because your bike is fixing to drain it, welcome to the endless search for more power. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA in a really thunderous voice.
