Busa vs. Bambi

Well boys i wont be ridin my bike for a bit as i hit a deer tonight. about 3/10's a mile from my house. i was donig 55 maybe. did a superman to the left and let the deer have the busa. i tucked and rolled, got right up with only a couple small scrapes on my legs. i had some cops come to shoot the deer to finish the kill the busa started. helmet and jacket saved me big time! scrapes all over them and some
deeper wear spots, and to the ppl who say elbow pads(on the jacket) are silly for everyday riding, well, they are dumb. and these new gloves i got on ebay kicked ass in the crash, they have carbonfiber all over them and helped a ton, esspecially the pinky ones oddly enuff(joe rocket, speedmaster?)(jacket was the joe rocket blaster). the bike is most likely totaled, we'll see. ill probly buy it back and make a drag bike out of it, and get a gsxr 750 or 1k. as you can tell i am in no way "scared of getting back on"...as i have heard ppl say. hope to be ridin soon.

Silly deer...

ironically if any of you remeber when i first posted here, when i got the bike from a crashed bike dealer it had nearly the identical damage it has now...so i willbe buyini the exact same parts again...that is if they let me buy it back.

and for all you picture hungry ppl i took a few of the crash

ill post em a bit later.

Glad you're OK and were wearing your gear. I dodge deer all of the time here. I always wear my gear because I'm expect my number might come up one of these days...

thats really all it is is chance, no amount of training or skill could have prevented something like this. something i learned i guess.

Glad to hear your OK, glad to hear your gear did its job, I wear the same thing (Speedmaster Gloves, and Blaster jacket)

Wow bad to hear what happened to you and your bike (totalled sucks), but great you had gear on. Thats gotta be crazy jumping off the bike, sounds like the best idea in your situation. who knows what I would have done. I am glad you are taking it well, as I am with my recent crash. Have a safe 1

I almost hit a deer yesterday too, I just happen to let off the gas to wave hi to a passing motorcycle started getting ready for the turn and out came bambi. Looked down speedo said 90.
Glad you didn't get hurt.

Scary thought-the Superman thing. I don't think I could make myself do it. I'm glad to hear you are ok. Good luck with the rebuild.

Not a good thing to have happen, but glad you made it okay. Definitely glad you had the gear on.
