Decided to make the weekend somewhat productive and tackle some projects I've been wanting to do. Here's the mods:
1) the droid phone mount w/ usb power connection
2) the trunk mod
3) a 96 multi-color LEd install w/ remote
The tutorials up here are awesome, even I finished these off and I've never worked on a bike in my life!
The droid mount was easy, clean, and worked beautifully.
The trunk mod was slightly different. First, the trash can I bought from waly world was apparently different than what others used and wouldn't work. So I decided to try the file folder as originally done, major fail! Wondering what to do, I decided to haul my tail to office depot (30 miles away) and buy the same model others used in the trunk mod sticky, went off without a hitch once I had the right trash can.
The light mod was more intense, thanks to blanca busa for the excellent fairing tutorial, wuda been much more difficult without those vids! Used BigRods LED install thread to guide me on LED placement, I'm very happy with the results! Showed some friends tonight, they were drooling after I pulled up, it really sets off the busa at night.
