buzzing windshield

My OEM DB-windsheild has started to make a buzzing noise at certain Engine RPMs and it's driving me crazy!! I'm sure it's the windshield as the sound goes away when I grap the end of it. I've tried removing it and cleaning around the end that installs above the dash with no success. I was considering lubricating the end next. Any suggestions?

HAHAHAHAHA!! I love this, It happens to everyone, I asked the same question a year ago. Yes the buzzing is the windsheild. It buzzes because it does not have a snug fit. Pull off the screen and put about 3 or 4 peices of electrical tape around the edges to make it thicker. It should solve your problem. Or another way is to upgrade to a double bubble screen which helps a lot. You can see you gauges better and it is thicker.

I have a stock windscreen and it began to buzz at low rpms after I installed mirror extenders. I retightened them and the buzz went away. I felt kinda antsy tightening them up though, hoping I wouldn't crush the plastic underneath. Its hard to know just how tight the bolts should be.

when it is vibrating, you should be able to touch the windscreen down by the guage cluster and it will stop. If this is the case, use the electrical tape on the two tabs once you take the windscreen out.

+1 electrical tape. First thing I did when bike came home. Never had a problem and a VERY cheeeep fix!

lol when I first got the bike and heard that buzz I thought there was a serious problem

I put electrical tape the length of the bottom of the wind screen on both sides - trimmed the excess with a razor blade and have never looked back. 5 minute job

I'm glad someone asked this question!! I had about 1,000 miles on my Busa when I noticed the "Buzz" noise. For awhile I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I thought the front fairing was loose or something. I was too proud to ask that question myself, now I know how to fix it!! Thanks guys

Just get a double bubble (Puig or ZG)... the stock windshield is absolutely worthless unless you're 5' tall.

Not for everyone. I'm 6'1" and have 37" sleeves and I can see my guages just fine.

it's happened to me at 7000rpm...
it's dangerous to touch the windshield at that speed...
