We went to the local mountains and spent a weekend of the most intense rain that I have seen in 20yrs of living here. We went from rain, to sleet, to hail, then back to rain and then snow in a 24 hour+ period non-stop. I know most of you may think this is light compared to your conditions, but Cali cannot stand these conditions after all the burns we have had. I truly thought we were going to have a mudslide after the first 24 hours of heavy rain.
These are the only pics I could get in between the breaks we had.

The hooter was the first thing we saw when we got to the cabin. He was cold and wet and did not move from his shelter the entire time we were there.

The last photo is when I got home and went to HB (in less than 1.5 hrs from the previous pics)

Good to hear you didn't get washed away Bubba, that's some serious weather for the Cali mountains. Your hooter houseguest made for interesting conversation I'm sure and some nice shots to boot

Great pics from you as usual...the B&W's are beautiful. Daddy's better lock your girls up...cause there is one handsome 'lil devel loose out there.

I don't know if this link will work but heres a short vid. of the foothills right by me. This is La Canada / Flintridge where the fires were last year. The ground just let loose......

Great pix, Bubba!

I can't believe I didn't see this last night.

Glad you had a great time, and made it (there and) home safely.

:beerchug:

I love travel for 'special occasions'.

Great pics! I grew up in Altadena, Pops still lives in Pasadena, guess I need to give him a shout......

Once again awesome pics Bubba!

Very glad you got back and forth safe! Very glad you were not on Patch for the ride up to the cabin!

Thanks for that update, I did not see this before, but knew that something had to have given way during this storm.

Great pics brother!
Looks like a great time.
(I love owls. They are great!)
Man I love owls too, they are really quite cute when you see one in person and this one stayed there and let us shine lights and take pics for a long time. He was the first thing we saw when we were going up the stairs and made us feel welcomed even in such a rain. The pics were taken with one hand on the cam and one holding the umbrella.

Nice pictures Bubba. Looks like a beautiful place you have there.

You will have to make a ride this summer and spend a night there, it is truly an amazing place to relax and let the city woes run off your shoulders.

Thank you all,
Bubba
